Don't ever count John out, I was in a head on at age 70 5 broke ribs and 2 collapsed lungs and a brain blead in ICU for 8 days the nurses all my kids are going he's done but 10 days latter I walked out of that place. All I can say is John Force is way more awesome than I ever thought about being. He is one tough guy. he will walk away from this. Thanks Mac for this up date

I sustained a Severe Stage 3 TBI myself after a horrific bicycle crash. That was 47 years ago. I still have symptoms. Know this. ALL TBI's ARE NOT THE SAME. All depends on the area/areas of the brain which sustained damage. ALL recoveries are DIFFERENT. We are all human that heal and age differently as well. I LOVE John Force. Dude has been my favorite driver for decades. I sincerely wish him the best and full recovery. God Bless you John, family and friends.

I was at that race in Virginia. John force wrecked right in front of me and that was TV doesn’t do that wreck justice. That wreck was a lot worse than it was on TV.

I was in a bicycle accident (face plant off of a road bike) 3.5 years ago. It took me six months to just recover from the concussion, and ~3 years to get back to 90%. John Force's accident was much worse than my bicycle accident.

Bike falls can be killer, you've got nothing between you and the almighty but an ANSI helmet and some lycra. I was just about home one day just chilling with my hands off the bars and my front wheel managed to find its way exactly in between two storm grates. I did a front gainer and landed on my back. Not a scratch on my helmet, just a shattered Zipp wheel. Any change of angle and it could have been disaster for me, I was just lucky. Glad you recovered.

I am a SURVIVOR of a TBI from 24 years ago. The doctors gave me 3 hours to live. MIGHTY MACK it is a long process and a lot of work on the part of the patient as well as the medical staff. I am blessed to be able to sit here now and write to you. My thoughts, positive healing vibes and prayers are many times a day going out to John! This is all very promising news! Closed head trauma is a very delicate healing process and, as mentioned by the doctors, it will take a lot of time and patience. I've said my prayers for John and certainly his family including everyone involved at John Force Racing. Thanks for the update Mighty Mack. Racers like John Force will bounce back from his injuries and will more likely race again. He could possibly win other championship to his record. These guys like this have so much drive and determination they will not give up. Racing is in their bones and blood and they won’t back down to a race. Hi Mighty Mack. Just found out what Happened to the LEGEND John Force. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family and NHRA Family. My Brother had a T.B.I. 2 years ago not from a Injure but from a Brain Infection. He had a Operation to flush out the Infection but after the Operation He was put in a Induced Coma and went down hill to the point were there was Barley any Brain Activity. I was given the choice of either Leaving Him in a Coma or Turning of the Equipment that was keeping My Brother Alive. I made the Choice of Turning Off the Life Support System and let My Brother go. By some big Miracle on the Morning of Thursday around 3 AM He Opened His Eyes. 2 weeks later My Brother was Discharged from the Hospital and sent to Rehab. 2 Weeks Later they kicked My Brother out of Rehab. 14 Months Later he was back at Work Part Time and now He is Back at Work Full time. May God Bless John Force and his Family and the entire NHRA FAMILY. My Brother just turned 59 Years Old on June 25 th. John Force is not just a LEGEND but is 16 X NHRA Top Fuel Funny Car Champion who will Surprise Everyone in the coming weeks. 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏.

That was a long stretch in the ICU. John has absolutely nothing to prove. He’s a legend in the sport, and holds more records than anyone. It’s time to hang up the suit. He can still stay active in the sport. Just not from that car.

If he decides to retire I hope he races at least one more time to walk away on his terms

Sadly, I think this will be the end of John's career as a driver. At his age, it will be hard to totally overcome a TBI, or get medical clearance from the NHRA to get back in the seat

Bobby Allison had brain injury and it ended his career. Hang in there Big John pulling for you

He should never drive again after a serious brain injury which he certainly has. Even a young person going through a crash this severe would be in trouble most likely. He is 75. I am 76, You do not heal as fast as you get older. It is amazing he has performed at this level this long. Be happy he is alive and improving.

@xballplayer4556. John Force is not a Clown. He is a True LEGEND in NHRA Drag Racing. He is and will always be looked up to. If it wasn't for John Force the Top Fuel Funny Car Division and all of NHRA would not be so Diverse. He also helped with putting in new Safety Equipment and Rules.
