🙁 I very much do appreciate the update… Someone VERY close to me, went through a very bad head injury situation and yeah…. Ironically enough, we sent him to Baylor because that’s where John was treated after Dallas accident (this wasn’t very long after that) and I don’t know if he would’ve gotten the care he did if John hadn’t gone to Baylor.. so this makes it that much more heart wrenching to hear and such…. I hope the best type of every type of specialist of every type just shows up and gives EVERYONE in the Force family everything they need.. Stay safe and much love everyone

John has always been my favorite and he is the NHRA. The way it sounds I would expect that we will see him retire after this brain injury especially after hearing his comments on retiring a couple weeks ago.

From my experience with those steps of care, I think I know what it is as I went through something similar at less than half the speed but won't announce my suspicions. the man is 75 I doubt we see him back out on the track he won that run that's a high to retire on. I got busted down from hauler/racecar driver and engine builder to shop sweeper. the team was lucky I stock-piled my built engines because they won 5 track championships in 2 years. i honestly hope and pray its not what I think it is. ill wait until you bring us the official statement to confirm weather I'm right or not

Prayers for this legend and all his loved ones. I was worried that he would develop a subdural hematoma, which those over 65 are at increased risk after head trauma. If timely treated, the person as excellent prognosis. I worked as a neurotrauma nurse. As OP said, pray for the family and give them your support.

Going from a trauma icu to a neuro icu isnt an upgrade. And I'm thinking things must be worse then it sounds because i would think they would say more in terms of actual progress. That being said, i juat went to Norwalk yesterday, only to see john, his car was there but he wasnt. Just wasnt the same. Hope what ever he is going through he can recover.

Closed head injury are very unpredictable. Racing has had a lot of these. Only time will tell.

I wanna know how he got this injury with all that safety equipment? When is the last time we had anyone in top fuel or funny car get a head injury? Maybe they should rethink this keeping the body on the chassis because I guarantee that affected his view of the track when the engine exploded and that may have made the difference. I've been a John Force fan since I was 4 years old in 86 and I don't want to see anything happen to him or have him retire until he gets 20 championship wins
