The backstory of this song is incredibly unimpressive, but each and every single time I hear this song, I get goosebumps all over my back and arms, even after all these years.

Yup, this song is as relevant now, if not more so, than when John released it in 1986!! This concert with the MSO has to be one of John’s best ever. He is our best non-exported talent ever. He gave up international stardom to stay in Australia with his family rather than being separated whilst he toured the world. He therefore owns our hearts and souls! Please check out the version of this song from the Firefight Australia concert from 2020. Even in his 70’s, John’s voice was as amazing as ever. John underwent surgery for mouth cancer last year, so we pray for his recovery and hope that he gets to spend more time with his family. John may never sing live again, so these videos of his concerts are his legacy to us. ❤

You're right mate the world just needs to calm down a bit and be a bit more tolerant towards others. I am Australian and I might be a bit biest but he's a legend and an icon here. I think it's great that Johns music is reaching out to people all over the world new audience of mixed age and race. What a song to bring people together, and you feel good when the song is playing and all of the band ,the orchestra and John are all having a great time whilst doing it it's a great atmosphere and great reaction from people who have never heard of John Farnham before.
