I grew up at 51st Ave and Thomas Rd. John F Long's mom was our next door neighbor and my babysitter. It was not perfect but was perfect to me. You can't blame the person who built a neighborhood for what people choose to do.

Thak for sharing, Zeny’'." That was really Interesting! I'm from Chicago and we love our neighborhoods!! There's a MeetUp group online (I forget the name) and each weekend they pick a different neighborhood to explore and discover ❤️🌻🌻🌻💞🌻💞

I grew up in John F Long home at 65avenue and Mulberry drive, it was a good place to live. Thanking JF Long for our little park on 65th ave and Flower street is something I always wanted to do but I never had that chance.

I lived in Maryvale off and on. First, my parents had a home on 80th Ave off Indian School in the mid 60’s. I went to Maryvale High School when it was new and on double sessions. My husband and I bought our first home on 57th Ave and Sells Drive in the early 80’s. Our daughter attended John F Long School. Before that, we rented a house close to Starlight Park School. Maryvale, in those days, was a great place to live and raise children. They recently closed Maryvale Hospital. The whole area has changed. There are still some nice, well kept homes. If cared for, those houses were well built to last. John F Long used to donate watermelons to John F Long School. The kids would have seed-spitting contests. LOL. He was a good man. He created great communities for young families.

Too bad John f long is not around anyone. I'm sure he would be pissed off to see what has happened.

Now Maryland also known as MurderVille in 2018 is by far the worst place to live and by far the worst place to raise a family.

We had our first home on 5600 block of W Berkeley. We paid 19,000. Sold it when divorced. Is it that bad now?
