Following a proposal from Tipperary, the Munster Council have approved the commissioning of the new John Doyle Cup, which will be presented for the first time to the 2024 Munster Minor Hurling Champions.
John Doyle from Holycross-Ballycahill in County Tipperary was one of the legends of the game of hurling, winning 8 All-Ireland Senior Hurling titles and 10 Munster Senior Hurling Championship titles in an inter-county career spanning from 1949 to 1967.
The new cup was presented by the Doyle Family to the Munster Council on Tuesday April 23rd at a ceremony held in the Horse and Jockey Hotel.
