I'm in no doubt that JD was aware what affect he had on his public with his music. he knew how much the words & music meant to his fans, but he was a troubled person. With some dark periods, for whatever reason. he would never loosen up & admit to his dark moods & no one wanted to invade his privacy, out of the limelight a very private person, but nontheless a great human being, & equally a superb singer/ songwriter & musician. as yet to be challenged. I like so many others fell by the wayside once the radio stations stopped playing his "hits". At one time I owned a couple of his albums. Even visited Colorado during his Rocky Mountain High song period. He could have passed on later in life. It was sad that his passing was young. Airplane flying requires attention to details and to minimizing risk. Two things that stopped this troubadour.

John Denver one of the greatest talents ever bestowed on this world and so much better than the dam Beetles who all music people seem obliged to say they were the greatest. John was a rare individual whose songs could break your heart, make you think or make you laugh or cry. I loved John Denver because he was a real person. One who was sensitive and warm and still makes me cry when I hear him sing, the saddest thing is that John suffered because of his gentle nature and was taken away from those who loved the Man and his music much to soon. Respects to both johns Wives and family.

It's Tim Dabbs (see comment below). The song made me think of John and then I found that it was written for one of the astronauts lost with the space shuttle Columbia, and who was a friend of Mr. Dabbs. Knowing how much John wanted to go to space, this made it doubly appropriate.

Sorry but I am a little confused here. Obviously it’s not John Denver singing. It doesn’t even appear that this is a John Denver song - no? In the description if you click the down arrow it says it’s Tim Dabbs. Not many might know to do that - it’s like trying to find the ‘small print’. Is this meant to be a tribute to John Denver? Or did John Denver write this and I just didn’t know it. I saw somewhere in the comments it was about a tribute to someone on the Columbia space launch or something which confused me even more. Everything about the very clear title looks like it is a John Denver song entitled ‘miss you’. Maybe it is just me that is confused. Perhaps you just are showing photos of John Denver as a tribute because he is missed. I miss him, I was very glad to have seen him live, if only the once and I grew up on his music. This is a very lovely song and so very beautifully sung but your title is completely misleading people to click on it and think they are getting a John Denver song, sung by John Denver and it’s not. Please correct me if I am wrong.
@TheZAMBONILADY

The text just below the video clearly states that the video is composed of "Photos of John Denver & the song "Safely Home" performed by Tim Dabbs from his album of the same name." This was made as a tribute to John Denver as we all 'miss him still' after losing him in October of 1997. Tim Dabbs wrote the song as a tribute to his friend who was lost when the space shuttle Columbia disintegrated upon reentry in February 2003. John was in line to fly on what would become the last flight of the Challenger, but Christa was chosen instead. When I first heard this song, I immediately thought of John Denver and how he never actually made it 'safely home'. If anyone doesn't like it, well that's what the scroll wheel on the mouse is for.

My first concert at age 14 was to see John in Philadelphia. PA with my 2 older sister's they were 16 & 17 in 1973. Sharing that experience I will never, ever forget. Annie's Song was in our Wedding's. We sang along with him ~ I lost both of those sister's listening to these songs brings back fun times blessed memories ❤
Will always love you John-!!! Beautiful-!!!
Thanks writing this tribute song dedicated to Mr Denver. He is missed by all the comments. Unfortunately don’t have him here on earth, but thanks to you tube videos, cassettes, records for his music. RIP Mr Denver.
Wow, that was so appreciated. Well done - I needed my eyes washed out. I loved him & miss him.

Rest in peace John and God bless your family with much love from Patrick
Yes, only saw him live twice but always love his music, and his work for the environment, but I had to come to the realization that he was a human and made mistakes as we all do. Always sorry we lost him so soon.

Not a day goes by that I don't listen to at least one of John's songs. Saw him in person 16 times, now just does not seem nearly enough. Last time July 31, 1997. Yes, miss him still.
So beautiful, made me cry. I will always love this man and miss him terribly. He was taken from us far too soon. I am so thankful I was able to see him in concert a few times.
Sounds like a deeper version of John Denver. Not heard of Tim Dabbs before though. Great!!! Miss you John 😢❤️‼️
Indeed still loved and deeply deeply missed a tragic lose to humanity. His songs always touch in the right place.
This is one of the best songs I have ever heard.it speaks volumes today is the first time I have heard it.
That hit me right in the guts. Sad, but very beautiful and full of joy. Thank You..
Mein Gott was für ein schöner Song 💞 danke John Denver mit deiner schönen Stimme🌹 🗣️Mega 🐎🐎
RIP me hombre . TJR Canary Islands. We will never forget your friendship.

I love ur voice since eighty's. Ur soul is clean . i can translate ur voice
So beautiful!!

If love could bring you back, you would have never left. I wish someone could have been there for you on that day in October to guide you to not get in that plane, I wish it could have been me. RIP should mean Return If Possible. I love you John, I'll see you in Heaven.
I wish I could find the lyrics to this song. Really beautiful!

Is this really NOT John Denver performing this song? If it isn't, it's an unbelievably similar rendition of John's voice. He's a sad loss to to music and the world.

It's Tim Dabbs (see comment below). The song made me think of John and then I found that it was written for one of the astronauts lost with the space shuttle Columbia, and who was a friend of Mr. Dabbs. Knowing how much John wanted to go to space, this made it doubly appropriate.

I don’t think he sounds like John Denver but still sings it beautifully. The title of the video is very misleading although anyone would know it is not him. It’s a beautiful song.
