This song is old, but the message is as true today as ever. John's heart would no doubt be broken if he could see what the world has become. There are young people making the changes that will shape the future for all people to come together for the highest good. I believe in a positive universe and it will come, but it's going to be a rough road for a little while longer. John Denver's songs always give me hope.

I looked for this song because it was a background song for an advert to help starving kids in Africa. This was like over 30 years ago. I was still a kid. Never knew the full lyrics till now. Very deep. It's a shame so many years of uplifting music will not stop this current agenda.

I think this song is about creating unity consciousness in the world, which is what we need now more than ever.

Words are so relevant to what’s happening in the world right now ❤️

I miss this clear, tender voice. John had a spiritual perspective on the earth and humanity that was inclusive of Eastern traditions as well as his faith in Christ. What a prophet!!! I love that man.

My husband opened for John Denver in Seattle back in the 80's at a fundraiser concert for The Hunger Project. John and Buckminster Fuller and Werner Erhard were convinced that the world could solve the hunger problem - and started a nonprofit - The Hunger Project - which is still active. John sang this song - It's About Time, I think for the first time publically which I don't think was recorded. My husband loved it and was moved to cover it at most of his concerts thereafter - even though it did not become a big hit for John. It is so very moving and spoke of a different time when people were concerned about others and ending some of the big problems that surrounded humanity then....we still have work to do - so I hope others will pick up this song - and continue singing it! It has a great message.

This song is as timely now as it was in 1983. We need to pull together as an earthly family no matter race, religion, nationality, origin, class, if we are to survive. It's hopeful yet poignant.
