I didn't specifically mention the clips which go on the fixed pins on the left side of the teeter totter bracket... don't forget those! They go on the inside of the left side and may best be reached by coming under the right side, so you can see them.

    I don’t have a snowblower, but I do have half a bag of plain tortilla chips and a compulsive urge to watch youtube videos. I’ve watched all the others so I’m so pleased to have landed here. Much love to my JD sisters and brothers! Let’s put this thing together TOGETHER!

    Just a reminder to folks: make sure you release the transmission lever before moving the tractor by hand. It relieves the hydraulic pressure on the transmission.

    Thanks Keith, I have been searching for a video showing me how to remove the deck off of my X370 for some time now. I am going to just use a front blade so I paid close attention to how you installed the "teeter totter" bracket. This will be my first winter with my X370. Thanks again!

    How did your first winter go? I just bought the X370 with 44" blower and haven't removed the mower yet. Should be a FUN winter here in western Wyoming where we get about 500" (500 inches!) of snow each year. Yee

    Great video! Do you put chains on the rear tires? I’ve had the JD X370 w/the 44 in. Snowblower. The chains are a must in Buffalo winters! Thanks for sharing!

  • @cardinalflyer

    I have used chains in the past, but they can really tear up the driveway and taxiway. For a while I installed rubber chains which I built by cutting up old tires. They were effective but difficult to get on and off. I have seen some rubber-strap chains which I think could be good, but I find that I can do the whole thing with momentum and good planning, instead of adding more traction. See my other snowblower videos for examples. I also do use weights on the back, I think I made a video about building the weight rack. The tire belts I've pondered can be found here: amzn.to/44jK1lY

    Great video, thanks. I just ordered an X370 with 44” blower. Question: can I stop the hydraulic lift in between the full up, and the full down position? Can you feather the lift up a little on the fly if needed?

  • @cardinalflyer

    @cardinalflyer

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes, you can tweak it up and down just a little or a lot. For snow blowing, tire bounce keeps you from great precision, but for example I'll lift it an inch or so while plowing over grass. The shoes on the side are the most import part of setting blower height. For mowing you'll use the deck height to set the bottom, and usually just lift to full up when you need clearance.

    So I bought a used snowblower attachment for my x350. Come to find out it's the wrong one so I just wasted $700 because this one doesn't look like yours but my mower looks like yours. What's the serial number on yours?

    I don't have that handy... hopefully your dealer could help you with applicability? Or perhaps there's another way to mount them? I've had several generations... 116, LX176.. some of them look like they will never fit together until you sort them out. Good luck!

    Hey! Do you have any tips if the belt is super tight? Like at least an inch off and will not get around?

  • @cardinalflyer

    Just make sure everything is seated properly and the best is seated fully in the pulleys and is run correctly. At times I have fussed with the idler pulley assembly to get it's motion correct... that arm could be stronger and can bend down. If you continue to have trouble you might ask your local JD Farm dealer to help, they often have an R&R service and see enough of them to know what it should be like.

    Nice jobI I have a separate snow blower, but looking at getting one for my John Deere. Why did you make the rear bracket, hold more weight? Still working good 31/2 years later? Thanks Again.

  • @cardinalflyer

    @cardinalflyer

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes, I've found that adding weight helps me keep moving on my particular property. Chains would also work, but they tear up the driveway surface. Rubber chains work, but are a pain to get on. The bracket is doing very well, works out perfectly. I had an earlier one which was more challenging to get on and off and held less weight, so this was my second design. I did a video on it: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iIibt61xY6bTnto.html

    The tag only shows "Model 44" Snowblower" and a serial number. The owners manual is the same. It does seem like there should be a SKU but nothing shows up in a search.

    No, I don't like how they mess up the driveway. I built some rubber ones from old tires once which worked great, but were not worth the effort to put them on. Check out my 'vs x inches of snow' to see the technics I use to do it all with momentum.

    Perhaps with a little practice the details will start to fit together better for you. I just did mine again for the season, and as usual I went back to this video for a reminder of things like where the arms thread through and which side up the bottom bracket goes.
