Yes this was before inflation got way out of control. Looking back I am glad I bought it then.

$1700 with the diverter, installed, is pretty darn good. I think an Artillian with 2 clamps would be great, and I could even pick it up from their facility that's nearby, but that would run $3700 (fork frame with no forks $700, diverter kit $751, grapple-rake-grapple set $2277) before tax (and you get to install the diverter yourself.)

    $1650 for my AV20F and $1500 for 3rd function 2025r. $1700 seems good.

He is demonstrating a Frontier AV20H not a AV20F. SV20H on Deere website shows AV20E picture not AV20H. Specifications showing are for AV20F weighing 203 #. AV20H weighs 381 pounds. Frontier Owners manual for AV20H for 300/400 series loader. Frontier brochure table says AV20F for 100/200/300E loaders. AV20H requires 320R or 400E loader. Cost of AV20H without 3rd function hydraulics probably $1800 to $1900. Retail about $2400.

I have the AV20F and will probably weld some 1/4" x 1 1/2" bars in between the tines as it let's too much material fall through (probably to keep weight down). Other than that, it's been great.

I want to get a grapple this year. I can see what an advantage it would be for me.

I think it’s worth the investment. If I had to do it again I would shop around a bit more, but no regrets.

It's not bad! Artilian, you are in for $1600 for similar set up of rake/grapple/rake. I even think the weight is similar, maybe a little lighter on Artillian. The trouble is, you have to buy their fork plate, which just the plate will add $595.00 to the price, but, you'll be able to use their forks, which are pretty nice. I have a 2025R and JD advertises that the AV20F will work with it. So... it's on the wish list. I have SO many piles of limbs and debris! It would earn it's keep in just a month! (compared to a rental will run me about $600 a weekend, x 3 to 4 weekends) it really would pay for itself. I am worried about the teeth! That is an odd design. Artillian also has a much better lower bar system. Good luck with the new toy! Out here in NJ, the machine is sitting parked until Late April. Too cold, too damp, too muddy. This is the time of year I just shop and buy new toys for next season!

Thanks for the Comment, if you get one send photos! I get what you are saying about the artilian, but the forks are nice. I hope to get a set this summer and run a review. Thanks again.

You must have an older version, paladin has made that for frontier for a few years now, looks very similar but different, probably has about the same performance. But still performs well for what they are

$1700 for the Grapple and 3rd function sounds like a steal, the grapple alone retails for $1700...I paid $522 for a summit diverter. If Debri is dropping thru, could expanded metal on the bottom help.?..I have this grapple on order. I'll be picking up piles of branches tho not dirt , so it looks good for that. Also the one I ordered has expanded metal on the top.

Very cool, sent photos of yours. I am interested to see the design. Expanded metal might work, but not too sure how it would hold up on the bottom. I sometimes have to dig a bit with the tines to get roots etc. but on top would be fine. Good luck with yours, send photos!

1700 is a good price every where else for just the grapple is over 2000. plus to stop all the droppings get some expanded metal from big box store and form it to the tines. cheap fix .

I tend to lean towards the double clamp style in the event there's uneven loads. But for the deal you got for the grapple and 3rd function installation, it's a good one. I've seen Tim of TTWT use both Precision Mfg. and Artillian grapples on his tractors. The Precision model is better for detailed cleanup compared to the Artillian, but Artillian has the advantage for bigger loads.

Also, it appears Deere has changed the AV20F recently? Yours has a different design (fewer, shorter tines (was 7, now 5?), no serrations, little teeth on the bottoms of the tines, no perforated metal on the lid, etc.) than others such as here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nmiovNqGmJrPpNI.html

I am sure your correct, John Deere I don't believe makes any of its smaller implements. This one says only Fronteer, but I know the bar mower is a Mossiemo. So it wouldn't surprise me if they farm out this grapple as well.

@@burbstobarns7802 Figured out the difference; you have the AV20H, not the AV20F. Mystery solved!
