    Narration is fine. You just need to add Varoom, varoom for the tractor engine. Thanks for bringing us along. Really love the views of your operation. An old farmer at heart.

    Thanks for another great video Kip. It was interesting and enjoyable. No problem on the video as far as voice. Matter of fact I thought your narration was interesting and most enjoyable. Thanks for doing that. Job well done. Brothers. Saw a little more of Greg I believe you said. His beard is just like yours. That is brothers. I try my best to identify your family but sometimes hard to remember them all. Now I may have this wrong but I believe you said you and one sister and two or three brothers. Sometime give us that rundown again. Nice to see the younger family members pitching in. Your family is great Kip. Filling silos. Lots of memories there. We did not have one but our neighbor did. He had me help a lot at haying time. Was interesting work. He feed beef cattle. I find your milking operation real interesting. Never been around one before. You explain a lot and is appreciated. Thanks for going over tractors. I think on your blower you just needed more horsepower. Agree with you on that. The process of cutting and blowing and filling silos is interesting. You have yours down to a science. You go right too it and make it work. Silo unloading equipment can be hard to keep in adjustment. You got your running good. Nice work Kip. You have a great line of green tractors to do the job with. All with good hours and nice condition. About it for now. You all take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything Kip. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

    As with the calving famers are constantly multitasking either physically or in your mind. We always added water even if the silage was not dry and we felt it helped pack to make a better ensiled product. Thanks Kip and so happy your family got closer because when my dad past my sisters were evil.

    Love the video. I worked for farmers we tied a rope to the unloader when we raised it to keep it from spinning. Don’t want the cable to unwind. Then it’s easier to stop it when your bringing it into the truck pod.

    When we would raise the silo unloaders on my grandfather's farm, my uncle would go up inside the covered chute and kind of bang on the chute with a wrench or hammer to let me know when to stop the winch motor. Darn near 30 years ago but remember it like it was yesterday. Just out of curiosity, have you guys thought of going to bunk silos or ag bags?

    They do use bags for some of their harvesting. But since they use a belt feeder system the silos make a lot of sense for them.

    Strange question but if you could would you prefer to have the hub extentions and have the front duals of the 8400 bolted or lugged onto hub extentions? If not what is the reason you are preferring to use a euro style wheel strap for duals? I heard their a real head ache.

    on the rope you use to pull the blower up why don't you mark the rope with tape on the point when the blowers at the top so you don't need to go all the way up to make sure you don't hit the roof

    What are your thoughts on unloading from the bottom like they do with Harvestore Silos?

  • @jdtractorman7445

    @jdtractorman7445

    Жыл бұрын

    My grandfather and my uncle's used a Harvestore silo (70-75 feet tall) for about 40 years. Some say they unload slower, are higher cost maintenance wise and are more problematic than the cement stave silos that have top unloaders. Quite frankly, my grandfather and uncles did maintenance all those years and didn't have the problems some people claim they have. I personally believe it comes down to proper maintenance, or lack thereof. For unload speed, I think they were just as quick as the silos with the top unloaders. It depends also on what you are feeding out of it as well.
