Brad, great basic simple informative video I loved it! Because of the video I am looking for your business or website to order the kit for a JD 2540and unable to find it, also I have the same question that others have had about that interesting little puller would love to know what that one’s called who makes it or maybe where one could get one, it doesn’t look like you’ve replied directly to any of those questions , Any help helping me spend my money would be much appreciated. thanks again, William

I have a 1959, John Deere model 730 that leaks oil on the top link arm where it attaches to the tractor. The bracket for it is slightly movable, presumably is part of the load sensing control. I can't quite tell from where the oil is coming, and I don't see an obvious way to pull that part off to check behind it. Any tips or suggestions?

Since you’re replacing your shaft, you can also cut off one end with a die cutter. Thread the cut end back in and punch out the bushing. The cut shaft will catch the inside edge of the bush. Punches them right out.

I have the same issue with my 2355. The local techs both said I would be able to stab it back in. But as I suspected, the spring loaded load control arm prevents the tappered shaft from engaging the bushing on the opposite side. It looks like I will have to pull the top of the transmission and that is not an easy job when you have to work out in the dirt.

Before you remove the top from the transmission, pay close attention and mark your draft control for positioning. This will prevent you from having to possibly lift the top again for the correct cam position. Just a learning experience for me!!

Is it necessary to pull off the bushings? it would be easier to keep them in and try to take off just the seals before you pull off the shaft! sorry just asking i have the same problem at my 3650 leaking this part of hydraulic system

Yes, you can try just replacing the seals. Be sure to push the shaft in just far enough to expose the seal. I boiled water and put it in a steal, sealed coffee mug withe the seals inside. Then took them directly to the tractor. This made it much easier to insert the seals. Unfortunately I did not heed this advice and pulled the shaft. Now I can't get it back in.

I used puller #67033 from evertough. Just tighten the jaws in the groove and then pound out from the opposite side using the old shaft from the opposite side. Popped right out for me.

Guys, you do not need to buy the whole kit! This guy's says that just to upsell you from his website. You only need to replace the 2 $5 seal from John Deere. Beat the shaft over to the side a few inches, then replace that seal. Beat the shaft back to the other side and replace that one. Recenter the shaft and hook you arms back up. Check out the other videos on KZread for this process, that don't try to upsell you parts from a website.

If you have a second person to guide you can knock the bushings out from the opposite side That's how I did it on my 3020
