Hi , Thank for the video but it’s usually upper bearing that makes that high pitched noise.

When I was trying to loosen the bolt on the clutch , the nut on the the top of the mower came loose first. Am I doing something wrong?

John, that can happen. I used an impact wrench to help with that problem. Try using medium Loc-Tite on the top. Make sure the threads are clean and dry before the thread lock compound is applied. After that, use try using an impact wrench on the clutch side.

Hey John.. same problem. I took an old electric cord and pushed in spark plug hole with piston all the way down. I was able to get blade clutch off.

Even though the engine is running correctly, the blade will not cut the grass. This is not a blade sharpness issue.

Is the hex bolt loosened by going clockwise?

@@jaimemejia2318 No, all of the bolts are conventional. Turn them counterclockwise to loosen them.

@@andyhamilton8940 I didn't. Only the lower portion needs to be removed for this job.

Fantastic job...never one to tell someone they aren't doing it right when clearly you did by ordering the correct part... looking up the assembly the cost is $410CDN on Amazon...I have two 14SB one JX75 and a JX85 and I don't have $400 tied up in all of them (in fact just bought the non-running JX75 this past weekend for $50...it works correctly now)...you referenced the 'cheap friction material' fix...and said you weren't going to do that (even though you didn't replace the whole assembly either)...I followed that tutorial and repaired the issue for $15...I would suggest ppl weigh their options but I can attest the sub $20 fix works...here is the link...cheers! kzread.info/dash/bejne/eIeOrrKPaM3Tdco.html

@@TZ250FANATIC not at all...what I was doing was commending you on the correct way to do the job ... But offering an alternative (superior in cost-inferior to a degree b/c not OEM parts)....some of us don't always have the option financially to order the OEM part-but seeing you do the job as you did would only add to someone's knowledge when tackling the job either way...take a compliment when it is given instead of looking for the negative...there is enough of that in the world already

I showed the setup. The block of wood held ratchet setup from allowing the crank to turn while I used LOTS of leverage on the hex key to break loose the bolt on the crank. Use an impact driver and/or heat on the crank bolt if needed.
