John Deere 8400r + Kverneland Lo100 7 furrow Onland Plough
John Deere 8400R, 450 HP pulling a Kverneland Lo100 Onland Plough!
Because of a dry summer, corn harvest was very early and we decided to plough the field trying out our new Kverneland Lo 100 Onland plough.
Next video will show how we continued to set up the field for seed

The JD 8400 has 400(450) HP, but we usually use a JD 8360r which is a bit weaker. Another reason is that with 7 furrows we can still use it on 3-point. Also this soil had more sand, on a different field the tractor was under heavier usage :)

@@Showdownxlm I also want to buy an 8400r but I'm still thinging what plow to chose maybe a 8+1 plow.By the way great choice with on land plow.

@@raduvas90 Id say its depending on your farming situation, field size, how close each field is to the farm and whst condition of soil you have. The 8400r is certainly capable of pulling more then a 7 furrow and you can adjust furrow width for harder condition. 90% of our fields are within 5 km and we have smaler fields aswell, therefor the 3 point suits us better i think. But on bigger conditions a bigger trailed furrow might be more efficient. Yes we are also very happy with our choice. But on slippery conditions you will have to have some patience. If its really wet you cant go onland.

@@Showdownxlm In the future are you intending to replace the plow with a Horsch Tiger? At this moment If I would buy the tractor I don't really know that is best for it. With the Tiger you have more efficency but It would be a problem with residue especially in corn. On the other side the plow leaves o more clean field but it takes more fuel/ hectare to do the job.

@@raduvas90 Tbh i didnt know the machine before but checked it out now. I dont think we will consider such a cultivator, as we only use plows on 1/4th of our field (where corn/soja will be planted). Iam not sure how such a cultivator would work against thistle and ragweed. Horsch also seems very overpriced. But you never know in the future... ofcourse we also try to limit the use of plows and if we use one than it rather be effiecient like the onland plow

That thing isn’t plowing right,,,, it’s either got a bent shank or it’s not set right.... loose the rollover and get a switch plow!

We were pretty happy with the result, but there is allways something to fine-tune in the setting with such machines. After all, it was our first usage.
