John Deere 3025D with Round Bales

Ойын-сауық

Trying to see how this tractor does moving round bales. I ran across a video made by Tractor Talk with Tim that was using a 1025 to move some round bales and I had to try it with mine. Since it will move them i decided to help the farmer out that baled the hay on the farm this year. I moved the bales so he doesn't have to go all around the field to load them on his wagon.

Had my 3025d for several years. And it has done many little jobs over the years. I have alll the tires filled with fluid and wheel weights all the way around. Last time checked drive on scale, it read 8,941 lbs. So no little car haul trailer is going to carry it so easy. But with weight this little tractor can easily carry a round bale. It can also pull a small 3 bottom plow. Breaking ground a 2 bottom is doable.

We're about to pull the trigger on a brand new 3025e (2022). Videos like this help me with being confident in dropping that much for a tractor. Thank you!

The 3e or 3d series are pretty capable tractors.... with a 5x6 bale you can shuffle them around but depending on density you may not lift them to full hight, but you can still shuffle them around. Also one thing is if your mom looks at a 3e series for hydrostatic drive not gear drive, the 3e has 1356 pounds of lift 24 inches behind the lift arms while the 3d is more capable with just over 1600 pounds of lift. Great video

Thanks for the info. She is looking at something between a 4 and 5 series. I just seen that video of the 1 series moving them and I had to try it with mine. I thought this video would show off what this thing can do. Also thanks for your continued support of my channel.

Looks like a winner to me , I'd like to see that unit hooked to a square baler just for shits and giggles, I'd say as long as you ran in a lower gear it would run a baler just fine

That was impressive, my 3025 E wouldn't do that. I can't even pick up a bucket load of gravel with my tractor. Mine struggles with a half bucket load. I've always had hydraulic problems and don't seem to get any support from the dealership. They keep telling me I've got restrictions in the hose connectors.

That stinks, maybe you could show them this and ask why mine can and yours can’t. Maybe they can explain it. Is your a 300e loader? It is weird you have restrictions in the hose connectors, unless something has been changed. Just me thinking.

Good stuff I wondered this with my 35D but I don’t have the attachment to see. Really need pallot forks more than hay spear. Good video sir. Btw do you edit your videos I added a couple showing how to take the grill off and change the mesh grill but I can’t edit for nothing. Have a good one.

@@oklahomachris6298 I started with a iPhone 8+ and done everything on my phone, I would even work on editing at work on my lunch breaks. I have upgraded to a GoPro hero 9 and a computer. The reason for upgrading was to have better mounting brackets and video stability. I can take the videos from the GoPro and edit them on my phone. I just think it is easier on a computer. The computer is a 10 year old MAC that my wife had for school. Hopefully this helps.

I am wondering what the lift capacity would be without the bale on the back. I am buying a 3032E that has beet juice in the rear tires, which, of course will help.

  • @rsmstuff3178

I have beet juice in my rear tires. The lift capacity will not change with the ballast. The loader will only lift what it can. The bale on the back is to increase stability, and give more traction on the rear tires. The front axle kind of being a pivot point. The more you have on the rear the better and if you had wheel weights that would help more.

@@Cat3406e I wonder what the pressure is at the hydraulic pump. I guess I need to do a video on that. If the pump pressure is not correct then you won’t be able to lift anything. When I get home this weekend I will see what it takes to get the tools to check it.
