For your driveway extension you could try cutting out a couple inches of dirt and putting in some bigger rock like 1's and 2's as a base and then your smaller stone with the fines to help lock it in. Love your videos. Appreciate your time testing out things for us.

Nice job with the land plane. Your little green machine is sounding good. You mentioned redoing the end of the driveway with a new culvert. When you do I would sure recommend paving the 20-30 feet next to the road, because you will never stop people from spinning tires.

My buddy has trash truck pickup, and keeps 2 semi’s in his yard. He uses big chunks of concrete fill, and then 3-4” stone, then puts the small stuff like you have on top. It holds very well, repairs only really needed about every other year.

I'm thinking the same with the land plane. I have a box blade right now, but I think the land plane for my driveway would be a better way to go, except my driveway isn't that long, its wide and its a circular driveway, but even so, the land plane I think would work better.

Hats off to ADS for the sound engineering of the turbo. It starts there. Of course it's early in seeing the potential long range benefits and usefulness of the turbo addition, but it is trending in a positive direction from this video. Sure there may be additional ways of taking advantage of this new power, ie. hydro transmission, but I am sure Tim is already thinking ten steps ahead in the experts he might consult next as this test platform is used revealing its weaknesses and strengths and where reasonable tweaks can be made to enhance/strengthen this machines capabilities. Happy New Year Tim and Christy.

A land plane is the best attachment I own. We are building a new acreage with a 1/4 mile drive and am doing quite a bit of the rough-to-finish landscape shaping with our 4066r and 7ft land plane. Scarifiers are a must if you are looking for one. Like any attachment, learning how to adjust and adapt the tool to the job makes a tremendous difference.

This is what I'm really interested in. The engine has more power but its now restricted by the hydraulic pressure the other components are limited to. I wonder about an increase in the hydrostatic pressure relief valve now the engine can handle more, but I'd be concerned the transmission wouldn't handle the extra torque. Thankyou for effectively doing my research for me 👍❤😁 pray you have a fantastic new yr

I really like what you've done w Johnny X. He's performing like a happy tractor. I'd like to see the prioritized hydraulic splitter and a bit thicker pump (10 or 11cc - extreme!) on him to take advantage of the additional power when using a backhoe or something impossible for a regular 1025r (Limbsaw? Mulcher?). Looking to do the same soon to my red beast ASAP. Nice work, nice results prove it! 1025x works... 1040r? 1025xr? Yeah, consider keeping the 25 in the name just for emissions!!! I wouldn't touch the pressure unless you find a need for it, but more flow is awesome.

One solutions for your driveway if you don’t want pavement is to use DSA (Driving Surface Aggregate). It keeps its form and handles heavy loads very well but is also low dust and the surface does not erode like a normal gravel driveway. It’s more expensive then a normal gravel driveway and does have to be put down with a paver but can be maintained with all the equipment you already have.

I like your initial testing approach of running the tractor in "basic/normal" operating tasks to see how the engine & turbo hold up. IMO the real test to see if the value for the money is can it run larger pto driven equipment whether a wood chipper, tiller, mower, etc. A direct pull without the engine bogging down is a good start but you can only have a certain amount of torque to the wheels before it spins out and the original engine could do that. If it proves to be able to perform same work at lower rpm range, saving the engine, that may be worth the cost. If it can run heavier pto equipment that would substantially be worth the cost. As a 2025r owner I want Thank You so much for your effort in experiment as it may prove very valuable to us smaller tractor owners. Have a safe / blessed Happy New Year...

I think it’s quite the improvement with the turbo. I’ve been watching and thinking how I could adapt that to my x595. :D It is nice to see that sometimes you let it go at good enough and point out where you didn’t get the results or setting the way you intended. I look forward to see how you deal with the driveway entrance. Visiting my in-laws, their driveway has a bit more severe incline to the road and I was just thinking how I could work to improve it.

Gravel driveway tip to keep the edges from getting beat like that. Make it muddy or wait for rain. You want the dirt to be soft and mushy. Then sprinkle in a THIN layer of some big rock. Like 3-5". Smash it into the mud. Then a THIN layer of 2". Then a thin layer of 5/8". Your small rock layer is way too thick.

Great real work experiment with the Turbo. Can hear Johnny maintaining RPM"S so Turbo must be working perfectly. I would suggest that in to help fix your driveway in front of your dumpster, would be to dig out what you have and the top layer of stone and sod and place 4-6" of 4" stone (AASHTO #1) top dressed by what you have on your driveway. That should hold up to whatever you drive across it.

Tim on building your drive higher using rocks, while it may keep water off of your vehicle, I believe water will continue to pool in the driveway and continue to cause all of the issues with a softer base under the rock. It is difficult to get a feel for your property from video. In my experience with property in hills and in flat land, ditches along side your driveway are the first thing to do. Avoid a ridge between the driveway and the ditch and work on drainage from the ditch to off of your property. Of course you also want drainage from the yard into the ditch also with that water also flowing off your property. Ditch size is based upon the flowing water you need to handle and where you want it to drain.

great video, love the 'upgrade', when are you entering the ol' girl in a tractor pull? tip: end of the drive to road connections, drag width wise, not onto your road, but side to side pulling towards the middle, eliminated the bounce issue. other wise finish that area with a tow behind drag grader which will keep a more level surface as gravity and surface levels balance out much quicker than pressure force which tends to cause the issue in the first place and just keeps mucking it up unless you have cat like reflexes and an eye of detail that knows when and where to expect force cutting issues. this is a good way to train your eye to that.
