John Deere 1025R: Front Axle Maintenance "Tips & Secrets"
In today's video I'll share some tips on how to "Quickly" change the hydraulic fluid in the front axle of your John Deere 1025R Tractor. You can do-it-youself in less than 20 minutes. See the notes below if you didn't catch on to the "Secrets"... 🤫

In all the 1025R videos I've watched here on KZread, there's 2 things no one has ever suggested:
1) Open the top wheel vents & take out the dipstick when draining the fluid all at one time. They show draining the main drain and wheel drains as seperate steps???
2) Leave the top vents out while filling with the 1st half of the fluid to help make refilling the axle easier. I've not seen this "Tip" anywhere.
So some of this video may be plain common sense for some. But these "Tips" are definitely not known by all... Not even some of the "Real 1025R Pros" here on KZread...
So, I hope this video helps some of you... Thanks for tuning in...🤫

I'm surprised that how great a video this was. I wasn't expecting much from a short little video on changing front axle fluid, since I had already done it myself and it wasn't a big deal. Wow was I wrong! The video was so professionally done and I learned so much. Even though I had already done this procedure, I found that I made a bunch of mistakes. I also love your tips about sawdust and a contractors bag. In addition to learning about the vents that I didn't know about and the extra drain plugs at the wheels that I didn't know about, I really loved how methodically you went through the process. I want to adopt that method in everything I do! Thank you for making this!

Great video. I am in the process of doing a 200-hour service on mine. Just getting to the point of starting on the front axle and came in to take a break and cool off. I just happened on this video and learned so much while taking a short break. Thanks again and you just earned a new subscriber.

Trick I use on my 2520 is go to the dollar store and get a tea picture to pour your fluids . Works great no sloshing and jug gurgling. 👍🇺🇸

Yup - Thanks for pointing that out - That's what the manual says. I went by the video that @TractorTimewithTim put out some time ago. And had to put a bit more in but not quite 3 full quarts 👍

My problem is my 2017 model does not have vents at the end. All I have on top is the dipstick/fill.

My Kubota BX didn’t have fent either. Just do at the end of a hot working day , meaning using the tractor of course, let it drip overnight. Right before fill it, I used to blow air in one end, using the air compressor, if doing this way, nake make sure you have filters on the compressor line, so the air is dry, dont want moisture in there. I covered the fill hole with a piece of cotton rag.
how many quarts? be mice to know
