Daly walked into a WORLD TITLE as a ROOKIE with NO warm-ups and was up 3 strokes.... then gave 30K to a family in need of a tragedy. you put that into any other sport and that's being said in every prestigious event idec how outrageous that sounds. first time I've hear of it and when said I was awestruck!

John Daly is and always will be the everyday blue collar touring golf pro. He isn't some country club stiff and that's what the PGA Tour and others wanted him to be. They wanted him to act a certain way, talk a certain way, dress a certain way the list goes on. He is everyone's buddy in there foursome that drinks and has a good time, but this dude could flat out play. This is why everyone loves him and generally are his fans. We the hard working blue collar golfers that don't have a country club membership are his devoted fans.

You have to add a section for his win at the Open Championship at the Home of Golf at St. Andrews. It's the second pillar of why he's a legend to golfers.

Well done. You could do a documentary just on the way Daly played the 17th on the Old Course at St. Andrews. One thing I will always remember is the greatest golf champion, Jack Nicklaus, was a color commentator on one on the networks. As the playoff reached the Road Hole, I heard the most amazing thing I ever heard during a tournament. Nicklaus said, "if I was his caddie, I'd take the driver away from Daly." Followed by the kicker, "but John's playing and I'm sitting up here." John is beloved because he hit his driver. Jack is beloved because he is the consummate gentleman. (Oh, and a big WPS! for John.)

It is apparent that John was "black-balled" for saying other tour players were doing blow. He is a better golfer than the PGA tour gives him credit for! He is the "every-man's" champion, the ultimate blue-collar golfer. He came along and broke the mold when it came to the stereotypical golfer. He made it clear that anyone can play and be good at golf, regardless of their financial situation or lifestyle. He has accepted that he is the black sheep of the sport, and I admire him even more for it!

Nice work - JD is one of a kind - He will not be forgotten but who is going to remember Luke Donald (for example) in thirty years apart from his own friends and family? Feck the PGA and their propaganda. Cocaine was def on the tour and still is - I don't believe DJ had a drinking problem - who does? Getting this channel to the next level will require some framing, some better tech techniques (audio was not matched, for example) and attention to timelines and image matching but I can see this being a big channel. I mean, you could cover athletes other than golfers but who in their right mind would watch that?

I think when totally sober and focused John Daly could compete with almost anybody on the planet. I mean over his career you see it happen!! He would go on long slumps and then straighten up and beat some of the best players in the world. If he hadn't been consumed by all the demons I think John Daly could have been one of the best golfers ever. Even with all the demons the guy still played better golf than 99.9% of us will ever play.
