I've switched from a standard to a baritone guitar years ago when I've found out that it is almost impossible to tune the guitar perfectly beyond the 12th fret in lower tunings. We were using a drop B tuning, which allows me to use almost standard-gauge strings. I got my hands on a LP Studio Baritone, which has been stolen in my car while on our way to a gig in France. Luckily I got it back the very next week and swore that I would never take it on stage again. So I bought a "cheap" Chapman ML1 standard Baritone, which had the same scale length as the LP, to play live. And guess what. The LP stays in its case while I've been using and abusing the ML1 for 6 years now. I've thrown EMGs in it and that's it. It's a killer guitar and I can't thank Chapman enough for putting it on my way.

I’d love a baritone someday! Really cool playing tips. I’d love another video about how to pick the right baritone guitar for the job if you guys can make that happen - the physical guitar shape/specs/etc, as well as the tonal options. I agree about the standard g chord shape. I like to use the “rock g” chord on a standard guitar by removing the index finger or I used a power chord. The only time I place my index finger on the g is to briefly add an embellishment like a suspended chord. Great vid - this is an amazing sounding baritone. Totally luscious!

Really nice examples! I love my baritone and I have it now for about 4 Years and I'm still get inspired by this instrument. Now I thinking about a 7 string / 7 string baritone and an 8 string guitar. I'm still not sure what way I go...

Thanks for taking the time to watch. 7 strings are a cool option.

Love the baritone, and that white one looks incredible. Any idea why every guitar on the website right now shows the "WE'RE SORRY, BUT THIS ITEM IS UNAVAILABLE." message?

Hi, are you in the US? If so, the stock/inventory is handled by our US partner. If they've sold out then that's the message. It's not great, and not all that clear so i've contacted our webteam to try and improve.

    Best pickups for baritone?

It's as much personal preference and the style you're going for. Some pickups are good all-rounders, others will give a darker sound, others a snappier one. There's not really a "best".
