John Cleese is always a joy to watch, whether he's acting or doing a talk show such as this. He is so accurate when he says that people at the top don't know what they're doing. That holds true in American TV as well. I've seen it many times.

The English/British at their best have a certain style. I get the impression that americans, especially american TV, don't understand that style, and aren't able to remake it or make something on the same level. Whether it's The Monty Python Show, Fawlty Towers, Doctor Who, The Avengers or Blakes 7, that's why a remake is going to have me down on my knees in no time flat, screaming "Oh no, no, no! Not that!!!" Lord have mercy on us all.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail was a movie all my friends and I watched over and over and over and over. I remember once we were riding dirt bikes. My best friend hit a rock hidden in the grass and tumbled head over heels two or three times. I raced to where he was laying, fearing the worst. I threw my motorcycle on the ground and ran to his side. He sat up and was holding his obviously broken arm, staring at it, with tears starting to run down his cheeks. I said, "Oh look, it's only flesh wound". He looked up at me with grass in his hair and dirt on his face and busted out laughing.

Not if I had to go to the trouble of seeking it out. Would I mock a ceremony that wasn't Full of arrogant, overblown, Anglican self-importance? It depends if there were anything else equally asinine to mock about it. Once my ostentatious consumption sister wined that the jacuzzi in the exec suite of their hotel had been ripping off threads of gold from her gold lame bikini. Writing the script and starring in her own comedy sketch, I went to town on that one. She's an Anglican too so maybe there's something in the Holy water that inclines one toward comedic couture.

I grew up watching Monty Python. I remember laughing so hard I was crying. I love that they didn't care if they offended anyone. I see so much violence in movies today, at least in the U.S., but as long as it doesn't offend anyone it's in the theatres. I wish we could bring back the silliness and humor of Monty Python. Favorite movie is, "The Meaning of Life," and I can't pick a favorite sketch, there are just too many. Thank you for making an eight year laugh.

The ending to Holy Grail always felt particularly nostalgic for me - I used to do medieval re-enactment. And one time, during the re-enactment of the Battle of Tewkesbury... someone got an arrow in the eye. Next thing you know, gliding through the cannon smoke and past the men in armour, across the battlefield, a modern ambulance appears, loads up the wounded individual, drives off. Battle resumes. Years later I saw Holy Grail, and my thought was not "that's very silly and out of place" - my thought was "That's weirdly authentic."
