Bang on the money, I couldn't agree more, that's why it's so easy to love her and her work....I actually struggled to get that right for some time, but as it turns out it was only when I discovered how reality really works did I learn to truely let go, JUST BE & live, you see the human being has had a very useful tool of sorts in what we termed intelligence because it allowed us to manipulate conscious attention and focus it on our self-awareness, in other words one could reflect on what one was as a person in relation to the rest of the world, which was obviously very cool but also devastating in many circumstances.... You see once we started reflecting on ourselves, we diverged from the manner in which other creatures such as animals in nature existed, which was living for the here now....we assumed that since self-awareness (a tool) had allowed multitudes of advancements such as technology or advantageous future planning, that this was a natural, superior evolution of our humanity....when in truth, it was a misuse of a tool, if you beat a nail into a wall or door chances are you stop the moment the nail properly affixed in place, proceeding to hit the nail however will only serve to damage the wall or the door, and that's the problem we humans engaged in, we allowed the tool (conscious awareness/attention) to interfere in our day to day goings on.... Can you imagine the amount of difficulties we'd have in focusing our conscious attention on an act as simple as walking, imagine telling yourself that left move, right foot up, left foot up, right foot up.....it would be the definition of insanity, and yet this is what we do each and everyday, our actions and decisions tend to be overly thought of, we even concern ourselves with what others may think if I say this or that, we concern ourselves about the future, unending worries, unnecessary stress all of which end up disrupting our natural flow, our freedom to JUST BE, to truely appreciate that no matter what, we are perfect just the way we are! We already know the answers much the same way we know how to open and close our hands, how we grow our hair, beat our heart, among many other things that come off as subconscious activities....you see there is no such thing as the subconscious there is only you, there is no thinker who observes and contemplates actions, there is only thinking, there is no person who hears or sees or feels, there is only hearing, seeing and feeling....our notions about what we are, have always been illusions & abstractions such as longitude and latitude...you won't find actual, tangible divisions across the planet earth... You see we needed these illusions & abstractions for the purposes of conveying ideas & making conversation, because this gave us reference points, systems and conventions of measurement... Unfortunately, we humans forgot the illusory nature of a thinker that thinks, we forgot that concepts of self are only that, concepts....we forgot that our existence is one WHOLE, one FAMILY, one ENTITY....the mistake of confusing an abstraction(thinker who thinks) for what we truely are is the reason people have been motivated to pursue selfish desires at the expense of others... Every now and then, in particular when a great tragedy befalls a community or town or country, we are reminded that to be a human, means to love, care & show kindness for others as one would for a close family...
