My dad took my brother and I to meet John Cena at a local Best Buy in 2005 or so when he was promoting his CD. To say the place was packed would be a huge understatement. I was maybe ten at the time, but I remember he really took his time asking us our names, how long we had been fans. He let my brother and I spin the title, and he signed my replica Undisputed title. He really made up feel like we were the only ones in the room. To this day, my dad will tell you what a stand up guy Cena was to us.

We almost never had this man do what he does because of Vince's silly gimmicks and inability (in his later years) to get real talent over. Now I'm starting to realize just how much Vince held back the WWE in the 2000s. Cena was one of the exceptions to Vince's strangehold on wrestlers getting over with characters that suited them. Imagine how many of them we never got to see go over.

The managers, and the corporate people from Hot Topic told us to not both John and he was only there for the filming. We all were bummed until John insisted on meeting all of the employees and even had a short conversation with each of us, he had WWE media people telling him it was time to go the whole time and he still insisted on meeting all the employees, will never forget that

I can confirm how NICE Cena is. I went to a Smackdown taping for free in Sacramento back around 2008 courtesy of a friend of a friend who knew Cena personally. We left the show early because Cena called his friend who was with us and said he wanted to go out to eat at the local Applebee's. We met up at the restaurant and hung out with him while he ate dinner. I told him that I wasn't much of a fan of the WWE product at the time and gave him my reasons. He let me speak and actually agreed with some of my critiques. I'll never forget that experience and always think of Cena in a positive light. I haven't even mentioned that he still has the record for most visits by the Make a Wish Foundation. The man is truly a class act.

Now I understand why Cena is the face of the company and such a big star. He really puts his heart and soul into it. Unlike today's wrestlers, they may be more talented than Cena, but they don't respect fans like him, they are even willing to criticize fans and cry about how hard they have to work for them. Cena is truly a true leader

John cena is the real GOAT. Although I'm sad to say that I pretty much missed the entire attitude era cause I started watching wrestling a little before the rise of cena. I watched wrestling a little before wrestlemania 20, which was cenas debut at wrestlemania against big show.

John deserved to be the face of the company and when I hear stories like this I totally understand why they never gave him a heel run. I still think it would’ve been cool, but the man is truly an icon.
