Those who swore the oath to protect and defend the Constitution -- as did Bolton -- owe allegiance to the Constitution, not to a person, and not to the dollar bill. @@farzana6676 There is some logic to that idea. Does it seem to get more complicated though when we learn that the United States and the UK backed a violent coup of the legitimate Ukranian government in 2014. Among other things, the US and UK didn't like that the legitimate government of the Ukraine accepted a loan package form Russia instead of from the west. Does it change anything that the US and Nato on several counts broke the agreement that Reagan and Gorbachov made at the time the Berlin Wall was coming down that NATO would not expand past the reunified border of Germany? Does it change anything that the west had active bio labs in the Ukraine? How would we feel if China had biolabs in the northern Mexican states. How would we feel if Mexico and Canada joined an alliance with Russia and China that meant that this new alliance could effectively station troops and even atomic weapons close to our border? The Ukraine was moving closer and closer to joining NATO. The western propaganda machine relentlessly paints Putin and Russia as our greatest threat and starts a financial war with Russia - so It seems like the US openly provoked Russia until Putin probably felt backed against the wall. He purportedly asked many times for peace talks to resolve these issues and the west ignored him. There is much more. The US and NATO could have easily stopped the Russian invasion if we weren't acting so belligerently and aggressively and just allowed the Ukraine to be a buffer state between Russia and Nato. We in essence created this war, not Putin.

She could ask , while you were National Security Advisor did you have any idea that an invasion was being hinted at after Russia's Crimea attack. Putin made it plain what his intentions were concerning Ukraine for some years. The attack was decided after Biden became president because Putin thought Biden would do nothing, because Putin was given the impression that Biden was weak and indecisive by the constant rhetoric that it was so. I love that particular quality in Bolton. It is one thing that makes him great at his type position in government.... no games. He is perceptive in his field, picks up on truth when hidden, even when others are being very deceptive, and one can count on him conveying his truth as he sees it regardless of how unpopular it makes him. That is what makes a great advisor. No one needs a "yes man" as an advisor, one needs somebody that is knowledgeable, experienced, and who will always say the uncomfortable truth. Thank you John Bolton, for always giving your best to the American people, imho.

@@andrewhighfield3338 True. Barnett framed some questions in a presumptuous manner. She should have known his response would be sharp, immediate and very perceptive. She also drifted off course. The subject and TITLE of this video was 'Russia's war in Ukraine'. Bringing up questions about why he worked with trump, why he did not testify, and whether it was right write a book detracted from the video's purported subject. Furthermore, Bolton has answered those exact questions on at least three separate interviews.

I decided, for example, that Bolton is either an idiot or a liar when he claimed that Trump's violent attack on democracy on January 6 had no effect on dictators around the world who witnessed America being too weak to defend its own house.
