There were years worth of John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Gareth David Lloyd, Steven Amell, David Tennant, Billie Piper, Catherine Tate, James Masters, and Noel Clarke talking about John's on-set pranks - It's not until the allegations of Noel Clarke came out and a video resurfaced of him talking about Barrowman's on-set behaviour (and saying something like "John can get away with it because he's gay") that people suddenly had an issue with Barrowman. If John had done something recently then fair enough, but journalists taking an interview of Noel Clarke from years ago and using it to demonize John felt like a targeted attack.
