Watch his Rig Rundown. The guy could use all the gear he wants, even put his name on any given PU or Device like other. COUGH periphery. He uses a Overdrive a Distortion and a Reverb. Thats it, 3 stock, boss pedals i think. And bout 12 FenderTelecaster.Thats keeping it simple.

Wow,cool dude! Great stories..amazing how approachable and gregarious he is,no discernable major ego tripping,down to earth attitude and remains chill throughout!! Totally refreshing and heartwarming to see a man who I consider to be a truly gifted guitarist,and he is just the coolest,most pleasant and warm and funny man ever!(and such a cutie,too!!) I've never seen John 5 do a bad interview. Always gracious and in an amazing mood. Love that guy!

Agreed, there's no denying the monster chops he's got but on top of that he's just such a nice dude, always willing to talk about gear and stuff. I'm going to Norm's rare guitars next month and I'm hoping for some incredible coincidence John 5's there browsing teles and I get to shake his hand.

John is perhaps the most 'normal' rock star of all time. You can tell that he was raised properly. He is just 'normal'. He knows how to speak to others, doesn't have a huge ego, isn't a jerk, isn't trying to be super cool all of time and he isn't always 'putting on' an act like so many other 'rock stars' do. He is just a cool guy who happens to be one of the greatest guitar players to ever strap on a guitar.

You honestly couldn't have gotten a better guy to interview! John is such an amazing human being and you can tell he really enjoys doing what he does!

I had never heard of him up until these rumors about him joining Mötley Crüe surfaced. I think he'd be a great fit but even if he doesn't join crue I'm glad I discovered him. He seems like such a genuinely nice guy. Always smiling and friendly in everything I've watched, and of course an absolutely amazing guitarist to boot.🤘

Saw him live with mötley last week and the guy absolutely rocked it. If I didn’t know, I’d have said he’s been with them since the 80s, cause they were vibing like they’ve been doing this together for decades. His energy is immaculate. Always liked him on marilyn manson but I’m so glad he joined motley, he’s such a likable dude and amazing guitarist.

Absolutely one of the most authentic, nice guys in the music business...John 5. (...and THE most unheralded guitarist in rock n' roll) How he stays unaffected from the business I'll never know...

Seen him with Zombie twice, that dude is seriously an underrated guitarist

The guy is so friendly and down to earth and hell of a guitarist.Underrated and always in the MM-shadow sad to say. He nailed Holywood.

John5 is a great guy man, always nice in interviews and a great guitar player.

John is one of my all-time favorite guitarists. Even with all of his fame and fortune, he's just so damned nice and humble - not to mention he's a _really_ good guitar player. He's definitely a great guy, and I think all rock stars should aspire to be as down-to-earth as he is.

I've waited so long for this, thanks Loudwire! Appreciate your work

He always seems like such a super nice and cool guy. What a legend!

I'm a blues and jazz guitarist... but I genuinely think John 5 is one of the best guitarists out there. He's got the chops, he's got the sound, he has the restraint when needed, and he's an all-around awesome dude. What more can you ask for?

This is why John 5 is a class act. He loves his fans and is so appreciative. He takes so much time to entertain them and make them feel appreciated. A step up there right with EVH!

Having grown up in the '90's with all the controversy about Manson and then seeing how a nice a guy John 5 is is kinda hilarious.

John 5 visits normans rare guitars saw him playing telecasters he is a monster guitar player .

I remember when John 5 would come around to different Studios and drop off I can't remember if it was a tape or CD that was a Showcase of what he could do. We had Studio 56 radio recorders at the time and envision Productions. I do always remember him being a very nice guy and down-to-earth. And somewhere I know I still have a signed tape or CD of him from his showcase. He would chop it around because he was a great session guitar player. But just thought I would share and let you know that even back then he was just a very cool guy. I didn't meet very many cool musicians so he always stood out as just being cool

Seeing John at Ozzfest with Zombie was a complete surprise. Saw John do the biggest guitar throw I've ever seen and continue into a solo without missing a fucking beat. The best.

5 is just so cool. And you can tell he's a student of the guitar, but likes his fun too. Great combo.

John 5 is one of the nicest guys in the music business. Zero ego

Watched Hee Haw with my dad all the time myself...loved Roy and Buck! Had to learn Banjo and guitar...AND fiddle after that!

I saw John 5 open for Queensryche in Detroit back in February. Queensryche was good, but John stole the show. Absolutely awesome performance

John5 he’s such a sweet and humble guy.. and he’s one of the greatest guitarists for SURE!

Downright cool guy John 5 really is! He just seems like a super happy guy who loves to play guitar and is clearly still totally starstruck even tho, he is at the same level as alot of his idols. And man he can fucking play guitar!

I met this guy once at San Diego. Amazing guitar player, and a very cool down to earth kinda guy. Thanks Loudwire!

10:54 Loving this....just saw Zombie at Blossom Music Center (Evil Twins Tour) and he says to the crowd, " I was just doing karate in the garage with my new stepbrother..." and then Marilyn Manson walks out to sing the next song with him. You know Rob and John 5 just mesh that well together...like brothers.

John 5 is a class act. Such a down to earth guy. Also one of the best guitarist Ive seen live.

There's millions of guitar players but john 5 is different. I donno how to describe him but he looks like a normal ordinary guy but wow. he's one of few best guitar players in the world and a good soul at same time!

I am a total guitar nerd and this guy is my favorite guitar player of all time. Hendrix, all the Roys (country guys), the jazz dudes...John 5 is the combination of all of them.

He has a very sharp memory...no wonder he could play so solid on live just like on the record...🙂🤩

This guy is so cool, I was lucky enough to meet him, he's always like that !
