John 5 is just a pure, genuinely good guy, just like you Kenny. It’s because of artists like you two that I am proud to be a bass player, 49 years into my career. Cheers my friends!

The only thing better than his insanely good playing, is how nice John really is. Thanks to a mutual acquaintance, he took a moment out of his day to send me a personalised video from his living room congratulating my wife and I on our wedding simply because they told him I was a fan!!! Talk about being a humble rockstar!!! What an absolute legend

I have so much respect for John 5, he is just the most versatile guitarist and so talented. I've always thought the true masters are usually the most humble and down to earth people and these two greats are prime examples of this. When you have the talent, there is no need for extreme egos to take over, your talent speaks volumes.

I had a very similar experience when I was about the same age, five or six. I had no support in my parents and was always discouraged to pursue a music career. My uncle was a school teacher and understood my desire to play guitar and payed for guitar lessons for me when I was in junior high like seventh grade. I never looked back I became obsessed and always had a guitar or found one where ever I was. People showed me things and I was a sponge and started playing in one of the bands that I used to watch them rehearse at a grade school in the evenings and they invited me to play and saw that I had the right mind set and had a couple of chops. They took me under their wing and we took off and played all over the place from Wyoming to Texas and everywhere in between. I learned more with them than anyone else. I don’t remember what happened but I moved around a lot and joined the Air Force in 1980 a month before my 21st birthday and got out in 1987. I always wondered what would have happened if I had moved out to Los Angeles. In 85/86 I got stationed at Norton AFB in San Bernardino Ca. But nobody took me seriously because I had to keep my hair short. Most frustrating part of my life I couldn’t get past that I went to every audition I could. Nobody would take me in and told me they would if my hair was longer. Drinking, smoking and woman played a big part of my life after and before the Air Force. Three daughters and three failed marriages and now I’m a divorced father that still kicks ass on guitar. Bounced around from band to band and recorded a couple records that never got finished or released. Now I play in a cover band with some older guys. I think I’m the youngest person at 63. So maybe this will see a few gigs. It’s fun and it’s better than not playing at all. Or by myself at home. You guys are awesome to talk about all the things I love to talk about. Thank you… 🎸🤓🌎☮️🥓

Hi Kenny! Great interview with John, thank you! I had the pleasure of being on tour with you back in 2000 when you were touring Europe with John Fogarty, supporting Tina Turner (I was playing guitar in the Aussie band before you guys, but I play guitar for Virgil Donati, Tommy Emmanuel and others). In the few interactions I had with you in the the 3 months around Europe, you were such a gentleman, and it was a pleasure to hear you play those songs each night. I'm loving your shows brother.. the way you speak about the joy of music, and the humans are "feeling creatures" in this interview is wonderful. Peace and respect to you sir, from Down Under. Love love love this interview! John 5 is the most beautiful soul in the music industry I have ever had the pleasure and privilege to meet via his meet and greets with The Creatures. I have gone 7 times myself and took my 12 year old son the last time I went as a reward for writing his own original music for a school concert on the piano and John was so wonderful with him and talked to him about writing music. I adored him before that and after that encounter he will always hold a special place in my heart. Well worth any amount of money to experience him in person and highly recommend splurging for the experience. ❤️

When you surround yourself around good people things will go smoothly and John 5 is the key factor apparently that makes bands go in order and he is the most respected guitar player in the business if not he would have not played in all the bands and artists that he has . John 5 devoted his life to making a guitar talk to him and being able to play with Motley Crue and filling the spot of mick mars is some big shoes to fill but he’s not going to have any issues with doing that because he’s not a failure. Mild temper and positive energy is what makes him the success he is to this day he is the nicest guy I have ever seen interviewed in the world of music. God Bless John 5 for the time he spent with Marilyn Manson because I’m sure at times he was in pure hell and Kenny I would never leave you hanging out there on a limb and not mention you and all that I know to say in words toward you is that you are a great Fucking dude you make me feel so good about myself after every video I watch that you are in on here!!!! Both of you guys are top notch guys in my mind so keep the positive energy coming pouring into the music industry because y’all got a good thing going on!! Good luck and God Bless

As a sixty year old that’s still creative and active in many things I still believe the same. People that have a passion are addicted to other passionate people. The natural positive nature of John has little to do with his guitar playing then how is as a human being. The guitar playing is just his voice. My youngest son is his age and is a passionate person as well and attracts the same individuals. It’s a great thing to see in his generation.

If I remember correctly, at track record, n Hollywood..1997 maybe 1998 John was working on those songs that would eventually get him a job with Mr. Diamond Dave. I don't remember the title the song, but it was very 'hot for teacher' like and the Leah Anroni drummer could not hit the mark ... about 2 or 3 in the morning.. Bob excused the drummer and called Kenny. Kenny came in, listened to the track while tweaking the drums. Nailed it take two. We all finally got to lock up and go home for the night. I was an assistant engineer at the time. this podcast put me right back there! Thanks
