Simply.... brilliant. Sweet. Smoov. Dirty. These guys know their swingS...
Saw him years ago in Philly at a small restaurant venue. Awesome. He even autographed the Keyboard Magazine that I brought because he was in the issue. We had just a few quick words, what a really nice guy! Saddened by his passing, grateful for what he has given to me and the rest of the jazz loving world. Grazie, Joey!
Probably one of the best jazz organ artist on the planet!

prob, I think in history. I prefer Gene Ludwig more, but that's just my opinion. Joey is a g.o.a.t. in his own right

What a feel they put in to this...
RIP, Mr. DeFrancesco.
Questi sanno suonare veramente. Walter dall'Italia.
So sad for the loss of this incredible jazz master. He really brought the Hammond B3 back to the center of jazz. I love that instrument and long collected the albums of Jimmy Smith, Booker T. and the rock players who played the B3 so well (Greg Rolie of Santana as an example). RIP

I LOVE JAZZ HIS PLAYING IS FANTASTIC REST IN PEACE .
Thank you Joey for a live show in Edmonton Alberta that I’ll never forget. Your talent and musical feeling was at such a high level , and hopefully will inspire other young players to reach for the moon, too.
The synergy is great in this one, you can almost feel the vibe through the camera & microphones!
Rest in Peace Joey
There are not many musicians that can play the organ. Number one. Joey is the premier jazz musician that plays the organ. PREm
This is such a Count Basie thing they are doing here. Start small..creeping. Making the listener lean in. And then WHACK! they blow you outta the room. And bring it right back down like nothing. Love it
Key board perfect guiter perfect drum perfect. I can not believe ! They all three respect their music each other, I think they are happy .
May your music carry on, I personally want to thank you for giving us of best Dam music during your lifetime with other super stars.
This is the best episode of AFV ever.
me encanta el romance con el que interpretan la melodía
I'm not even a keyboard player, and I have to say that Joey D is a huge inspiration. I'm a sax player, and I spend hours studying his technique. There's so much that I want to incorporate into my own playing.

Joey said that he met Jimmy Smith as kid and was super inspired. The two of them live was beyond awesome.

Fly me to the moon.... When is the next flight scheduled? It may be one little step for man, but it certainly is a giant leap for mankind, this mean and dirty swing! Beautiful!
I agree, Joey is just so great to listen to no matter what he is playing. Along with his amazing virtuosity. He really perfected the B3 in my opinion.
i could listen to this all day! Great!
One of the biggest. Love Joey Great to hear someone that can improvise over an evergreen without completely destroying it
Miss you Joey!
