It's just crazy to think Joey D caught his attention at 16 years old. Wow.
looks like he found Joey when he was playing for some young local trumpeters on the bill biggs show.

I haven't seen it. There's got to be something out there! I'm going to ask Joey, next time we chat. Wicked to think he was 17 when Miles drafted him. Miles also got bassist Marcus Miller when he was just a teenager. Crazy.

How about earlier drafts: Herbie Hancock, Tony Williams, John Coltrane, Ron Carter, Keith Jarrett, Jack Dejohnette, Bill Evans, Cannonbal Adderley, Chick Corea....the list is endless ;)
