Joel Klatt talks Georgia-Alabama, Nick Saban & Kirby Smart, Jim Harbaugh's future I NCAA I THE HERD

Спорт

Joel Klatt joins Colin Cowherd to break down Georgia's CFP championship win against Alabama and discusses how much Jameson Williams' injury affected the Crimson Tide's odds of winning. He also breaks down Georgia's defense and how it stopped Bryce Young in the second half. Klatt also analyzes Nick Saban's relationship with Kirby Smart and his future in coaching. Klatt then discusses the Jim Harbaugh situation and breaks down the motive for leaving Michigan if he decides to pursue other opportunities, along with USC's quarterback plans under Lincoln Riley.

It doesn't work that way, buddy. You've still got to have time to develop your recruits for the college level first. They need to be physically capable, and mentally experienced to know their assignments. Throwing blue chip HS recruits out there who aren't prepared for it yet isn't the same. That's like saying you shouldn't have to go to the gas station anytime soon because you got a barrel of crude oil that's just been taken out of the ground. It doesn't work like that. You still have to cure it and process it first. As far as the 2 star walk on, that's a different story too since it seems like y'all's coaching staff were sold on him being your guy. Alabama had to put their young recruits in against their will because the starters got injured. Y'all's coach made the 2 star guy his starter. That's a different story altogether.

You're not making a compelling argument because you just admitted that Georgia didn't have their top receivers all season. That's a huge difference when you have a season to form chemistry as opposed to losing your receivers in the middle of a championship game. Talent alone doesn't make up for chemistry and experience....even for Alabama. With that said, I still think Georgia earned this win.

Georgia found a way to be number 1 without them. Funny, I dont remember anyone blaming Georgia's SECCG loss on that. Burton and Pickens made it back for playoffs at a limited capacity and only had a limited role (3 total receptions) compared to Williams 4 receptions before he got hurt. The difference is that Georgia's freshmen shined. Just like Tua and Devonta shined against Georgia as freshmen. QB doesn't count, considering a walk-on senior is still not as good as a Heisman winning 5*. At the end of the day, Georgia should’ve beat Alabama. They lost they’re best receivers, the two best receivers in the country. Speed kills, period. You don’t replace the two best receivers in the country, even if your Alabama. No big play ability left. Alabama had to play a perfect game to win. It wasn’t gonna happen. Kudos to Georgia. I'm not convinced Lincoln Riley's history is as great as we are made to believe. His two guys he recruited are Spencer Rattler and Caleb Williams. And as of right now neither of them are playing for him or the team they started with. LR's coaching made Rattler look awful this past season. And it was LR coaching cause after Cakeb's first few starts he started to read defenses and hold onto the ball and began to look exactly like Rattler. Only Caleb was smart enough to fall back on his athleticism and pull it down and tuck n run. But I'm not Sold on LR being the QB guru.

It took 3 miracles on one play for bama to score a TD.. Hats off to this Bama team that came this far- New QB, New and deficient WR's, New and young offensive line, New coaches. It was too much to ask from this team. But man they competed for 3 qtrs and make the game looked good. You can easily compare the line of scrimmage by looking at the size and experience both teams have. Congratulations to GA's team by playing good all season and they looked good whole season. Everything worked in their favor. There defense didn't let the game slip early due to which Bennett doesn't have to throw that many and make mistakes.
