I mean, I'm just starting to get into lifting (and of course nowhere near the level that Peppers lifts), and I probably refill my water bottle about every hour, maybe less often overall during school. Colin, I don't even play sports anymore and I drink AT LEAST 64oz of water every day. I'm a decent sized dude, 6'1 245lbs so for an athlete of Peppers' size and to be in the shape he's in, this is not weird at all, even if he wasn't sick, to get this diluted sample. At the end of the day, it's about reasonable doubt and I think there's a quite a bit of it here. Certainly enough to allow the dude another test.

  • @badnewsbaers45

Thank you for explaining this Joel. Very good job. The reasons you gave were very valid and cleared the issue up easily. Not a big issue at all I drink a bottle of water like every two-four hours just sitting around. An athlete could drink a lot more than that easily.

48 ounces of water in 4-5 hours is a lot for someone sitting at a desk. If you're out doing something physical it's next to nothing. I work outside and on hot days often drink 1 gallon (128 ounces) in 8 hours. (64-78 ounces every 4-5 hours). So if he was tested shortly after a workout or workouts it's completely feasible that he drank way too much water just trying to hydrate, not trying to cover drug use.

48oz of water is about 2.5 bottle of any purified water bottle (most are around 20oz), so to say that he is purposely drinking 2.5 water bottles over a 4-5 hours span to dilute his test is totally absurd. That is not very much by any means, let alone for a draft prospect that is performing for 2 separate positions.

48 ounces is around 1/3 gallon of water that seems very reasonable for an athlete

Colin, it the player in question was Mitch Trubisky, Christian McCaffrey, or T.J. Watt, then maybe you'd believe the science?

As a College football fan and a person who watched every single one of Fournette's games, I can tell you how fournette will get 25 touches a game. 17-20 carries 2-3 Kickoff return's 3 catches out the backfield. And he can return punts It's all in the tape , but but believe what you want

a bottle of smart water is 36 ounces. I can drink it under a hour without trying and sports has nothing to do with it.

I usually agree with Colin but Joel was spot on. I swear half the people on the internet think diluted means he took steroids or something

Colin is absolutely correct. 48+ ounces is a tremendous amount to drink in any 6 hours period...let alone in the 6 hours immediately prior to a drug test. It is FAR more likely that Peppers was drinking such an absurd amount to purposely alter his sample.

If you can't drink 48oz of water in a span of a few hours it's probably because your used to drinking far less throughout the day.
