The Last of Us is an action-adventure and survival video game.
The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in the United States, after a pandemic caused by a fungus that turns people into cannibalistic creatures. The player controls Joel Miller, a smuggler who is hired to escort Ellie, a teenager who may be the key to finding a cure for the pandemic.
The story of The Last of Us is told in the form of flashbacks and unfolds over a period of five years. The game begins with Joel losing his daughter, Sarah, at the start of the pandemic. Fifteen years later, Joel is hired by Marlene, the leader of the Fireflies militia, to escort Ellie to a laboratory in Salt Lake City.
Joel and Ellie's journey is dangerous and full of challenges. They must survive attacks from infected creatures, hostile human groups, and their own differences. Along the way, Joel and Ellie develop a bond of friendship and trust.
