Vestal Goodman is truly the queen of gospel music. I am an atheist, But I know talent, grace and class when I see it !

There's nothing like good old hymn songs, they are gems to be preserved and sung through the ages, Praise the Lord!

Gotta love Vestal. She never asked for the mike, but knew exactly what they wanted when they gave it to her. True talent and grace !

At the Cross where I first saw the light and the burden of my heart rolled away. It was there by faith I received my sight and now I'm happy all the way

What happened to the music and gospel of old. Im 31 years old and would rather hear this tote a kjv go back to the old days. My grandparents watched this growing up. Im thankful they did.

I love these old hymns. Such wonderful truths in them that are missing from so many of the new songs.

I know it. They've been thrown out in exchange for shallow contemporary praise choruses that have repititious words. Sad!

I like listening to this music it helps.my soul that God took me for his child and I qlways remember what Jesus did on the cross for me THANK You Jesus for helping me the gathers was always my favorite people to listen to Thank You for having such nice music

I totally agree, I don't like these modern nondescript songs they sing nowadays, they're a bit soulless! The old songs had conviction and anointing. Something's gone wrong somewhere.

My grandparents have an Independent Missionary Baptist Church in WV that has song books dating back to the early 1900s. All of these songs and then some are in it! Wonderful to hear them. And my grandmother still leads the group in song. =)

I'm in my forty's but i can actually say this when I was younger my path made a really hard turn and jumped far off the path but where I ended up I joined the choir and all of the hymns we sang were almost all the older ones. Most i never heard.

I love the old songs, too. They express theology that is lost is most contemporary music. On the other hand SOME of the contemporary music expresses expresses a joy and faith that is wonderful!

Old Hymns have both! new music lacks many stuff, and we no longer talk about God and Jesus the way we used to do it, now we just minimize the relationship with God as if it's something like having a girlfriend/boyfriend, when it doesn't even go that way to not say it's more than that!

Sure miss these ole Gaither programs on TV. They never show the earlier years anymore, just the newer ones. Was great to see all the great gospel pioneers singing and praising in a casual setting, when they first started out.

When vesta sings am ministered every time and these hymns are so precious and timeless.i just love hearing these songs all the time 24/7

I appreciate the new stuff, but the weight of these old hymns quickly stir a powerful presence and inner conviction. These songs represent the foundation of our praise and the heritage of our faith! They also quickly take us back to when we first believed!

my life was a war without spoils, but I can still feel the joy of the Lord. He is worthy.
