He wasn’t drunk? When I quit drinking seven years maybe nine years ago now, I immediately quit sounding drunk. Immediately. After being drunk pretty much non-stop for twenty some years. Don’t get me wrong, I was a high functioning alcoholic. I only barely began to slur my words slightly after about forty beers. Thirty if they were tall boys. Forty beers is drinking real hard. Had to a day off to get that many in. Usually, people didn’t know I had consumed as many as I had because I wouldn’t slur my words, or stumble around. I was still way more intelligent than most and was a real asshole about it. God I am so grateful that isn’t me any more. I don’t give joe any grief for imbibing if he wants to, or has too. If he’s straight in that clip, then he needs a note from a neurologist stating that his speech is the result of acute brain damage that doesn’t affect his other motor skills, if he’s gonna be driving around you know. He obviously played the guitar just fine and recalled the story of how it became an eagles song. He sounds drunk to me though. And a little hard of hearing now.

Awesome how he started his intro, then sped it up, looking for that perfect sound, glad he's still around to tell his life stories about his experiences,
I was in boot camp at Ft. Polk, Louisiana when my brother wrote me that The James Gang was in town for a concert back home. Hated the army at that moment. I finally got to hear Joe at Farm Aid l in '85. He was introduced by Superman, Christopher Reeve. Worth the wait!

While I'm at it, I have to tell you how much I enjoyed the youtube video in which you demonstrated putting new strings on your guitar and stretching them into tune. Joe Walsh is one of the greatest!!!
Maybe 7 years ago I got to see Joe Walsh live for the first time, when he played with Bob Seager. I was in my mid 20s at the time. I had been a fan of his for a while. He comes out and plays a show that can't be beat. He was authentic, passionate, and have so much fun on stage it was infectious. That night he wasn't opening for Seager, Seager was closing for Walsh!
You gotta love Joe walsh what a guy always great true stories and fantastic guitar playing what's not to like an evening listening to him would be mega !!

Glenn Fry wrote "Life in the Fast Lane".It wasn't Joe's song. The song originated from a ride Glen got from a drug dealer in some flash car - and Glenn asked why do you do this. He says it's life in the fast lane. Hence the inspiration.

Most of you probably never listened to The Smoker You Drink The Player You Get” front to back in order. Headphones a dube and sit back every track.. in order…it’s a perfect record. Each tune perfectly placed to be in front or in back of each other. They don’t make em like Joe anymore.. he’s the gift that keeps on giving. Thank you Joe…
Fcuk man! I love that lick. It still gets me, even after all of these years. It just goes to show that a classic lick is classic from the moment it is brought into existence, and it never ceases to be a classic lick.

Well, he has played it a billion times so there's that. Practice makes perfect, and reaching perfection in practicing that was decades ago for Joe.
He and Paul did this re “Life’s Been Good” on the radio c1989. I can’t remember if it was Joe’s show or Paul’s show but it was the same schtick.
