When I played the album every song caught my ears, it was a masterpiece! "The Bomber" blew me away!!! I have been a huge fan ever since. I love this country type song "Lucky That Way!" @@BaahBen Considering Felder's talent, generated some of the Eagles highest selling records...? I don't think the guy was asking that much... An equal stake. Frey was talented, but he resented Felder's ability, and the fact that the label pretty much foisted Felder on them. (Not really Felder's fault...) Felder did his best, and the band's musical direction changed. When it did, the Eagles became even more successful than they had been previously. This wasn't due to Frey....this was due to Felder, and his ideas. Ejecting Felder from the band, was a poorly thought out move. I respect Frey's songwriting and musical talents... but he was an asshole.

This is such a great song. Walsh never looks to me like your typical great guitarist and his parts are often pretty simple, but the way he makes a song work and fits in the parts the song needs is genius and I suspect something that you can't learn - you have that gift or you don't and he has it. The backing band here is great as well - lots of really nice little flourishes that fit in perfectly but never overpower. Beautiful.

Joe Walsh never made a bad record, nor wrote a mediocre song. He was brilliant, as a member of "The James Gang" and in his solo career... and as one of the best personnel choices that The Eagles ever made. If ever "the party" had a life, then that life's name, was Joe Walsh. Singer, songwriter, and massively talented guitar player. Joe's style is all his own...and instantly recognizable. Been listening to his stuff, since he was a member of "The James Gang"... Longer ago than I like to think about.

In Lucky That Way he is contemplating his genius. And he appears to be more comfortable with it than ever. How does he write and play at that level of ingenuity? He accepts it as part of himself. No more booze, and he is able to be comfortable in his own skin. It is a genius to which he was born and then developed a great deal. But, he owns it. Contrast this song to Life is Good. He struggles to understand his fame and fortune and doesn't fully accept it. Now, he is clearly more healed.

Joe is one of the greatest examples of the power of the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous. Something he has no problem admitting himself.
So happy you made it through the crazy years Joe!
The first time I heard Joe Walsh was 1971. I had just bought James Gang Rides Again. You open up the LP and the words "Made Loud To Be Played Loud" caught my eye. When I played the album every song caught my ears, it was a masterpiece! "The Bomber" blew me away!!! I have been a huge fan ever since. I love this country type song "Lucky That Way!" After so many years it`s refreshing to see Joe has conquered his demons. Thank you Joe for all the great music over your long very successful career!

And underrated as a songwriter and singer.....He was a huge contributor to the Eagles but accepted less of a percentage and was happy with it. Felder chose not to...Big mistake.

@@BaahBen Considering Felder's talent, generated some of the Eagles highest selling records...? I don't think the guy was asking that much... An equal stake. Frey was talented, but he resented Felder's ability, and the fact that the label pretty much foisted Felder on them. (Not really Felder's fault...) Felder did his best, and the band's musical direction changed. When it did, the Eagles became even more successful than they had been previously. This wasn't due to Frey....this was due to Felder, and his ideas. Ejecting Felder from the band, was a poorly thought out move. I respect Frey's songwriting and musical talents... but he was an asshole.
Love Joe Walsh from his early days with the James Gang. Joe's like fine wine he ages well. And this is a damn good song. Love you Mr Walsh, keep doing what you do best, making music.
Joe, I watched the program with the Front man from AC/DC, last night .. I lived the seventies, but only just realised what a raw talented inspirational musician and mature gentleman you are .. seen it all and a shining Diamond .. lovely song
How could you not listen to this all the way through? I've been listening to Joe since I was like 8. Every song from "Big Tits" to "Life's Been Good". In my opinion, this song is one of his best.
JOE WALSH❤️ Ya know Joe, you are the only one that can make me completely ROCK OUT, pretend play drums, sing, AND drive my car, all at the same time I hear your songs on the radio. Your music brings me joy! Lots of truth behind those words. Just know that I AM your biggest fan! Saw you July 20th 2018 in Boston Mass. Unbelievable concert ❤️👍🏻

READY FOR SOME MORE NEW STUFF FROM JOE ! HE IS AN INSPIRATION !
Beautiful.

I was driving down Hwy 285 in Conifer, CO around Christmas time quite a few years back, and I believe Joe was riding shotgun in an H1 Hummer. I was in my 79 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser and he gave me a smile and a thumbs up on my FJ40. I sure hope he verifies this... lol
Great beat and a great sentiment. My whole life was “ lucky that way .” I can identify back from the time I saw Joe in southern Ohio.
Really into Joe lately. Love his playing and singing.
Great song , this JOE Walsh can still make a guitar cry and laughter at the same time , well done JOE !
What a fantastic song, and a great performance. Brings tears to my eyes. Joe is a fine guitarist, but he's also one of my favorite singers. He writes songs with perfect phrasing that make pictures in your mind. I love when he sings "In the City" on the "Hell Freezes Over" video.
Uncle Joes Chorus lines have been kicking my butt...oh for about 45 years..... He's got that slightly higher vocal while laying down the chorus and their always ....so sweet.....
This is true music.

Really good comment, man
Joe Walsh never made a bad record, nor wrote a mediocre song.
Joe, Im right there with you, ive been up and down, keep rockin
Love it! You still got it joe!

What a great song Joe! Terrific!
Never tire of listening to and watching him. His passion for his music is infectious.
What a great composer / performer. Unique.
When Joe says "Look 'em straight in the eye", he's saying, 'Here's my truth".
My top 3 favorite guitarists: Joe Walsh, Dave Mustaine & Eric Johnson Joe, you put alot of emotion and work into playing and your style and voice are so distinct. My all time favorite Eagle🤗
Bluesman- First I am sorry to hear about the death in your family. May they rest in Peace. I love Don Henley and have been an Eagles fan since the 70s. It's great to see that there are alot of Joe Walsh followers, his last two songs Lucky that Way, and One Day at a Time are true stories which he has been writing about since his sobriety and talks about the friends he lost due to alcohol and drugs on One day at a Time and Lucky that Way, is how he is lucky to still be alive after all this time.
I so wish that I was lucky like that! but I am not, but I so love him! He brings me peace!

Pete Pickett , absolute legend of a man 👍
In Lucky That Way he is contemplating his genius.
Thank you Joe . . .for the message embedded in this song. It tells a story that is so compelling to look within oneself and believe in the role of destiny in ones Life. I hope my Luck to meet you in India will also come true. . .someday. Blessings.
Joe is my biggest influence as a writer and musician. Hope to meet him one day, seems to be one hell of a guy!

Cool. Joe is just a legend in his own time. Ive only seen him live once and that was when the Eagles were doing their Hell Freezes over tour. He can play anything he wants and make it sound great.
