    I saw that a lot of people talk about speed and precession and i admit Joe Stump is the best imho, just i have to add that this string bending and vibrato are so good. even today i like blues after 25+ years of playing but neo classical bug baited me again a few years ago when i heard Mister Stump album. I keep returning to watch IMHO the best shredder in the world in this videos. Not just in this song, but but all songs I've heard Joe have some very unique amalgam of techniques, emotions and dynamics. After a a few seconds you know It's Him playing, due to there is no other human who can mixture that speed and precession with such high intensity string bending control.

    Killer tone and playing as always Mr. Stump! What are you playing through to get that amazing tone and is there anyway I can get a tone like that? I have a couple of Marshall Mk II's non master volume heads which along with an old dod 250 overdrive (the grey one) I got THE sound but not at bedroom volumes. I want to get a similar sound but be able to play in my apartment without bringing down the walls so to speak! Any suggestions?

    Hey Merrit on this , I`m using an old POD 2.0 (I have a killer old school Blackmore/Yngwie Marshall patch programmed into it ) through an old Crate amp with a clean tone . Then I`m using a BSM RPA treble booster (boutique Blackmore drive box) to drive the front end of the Marshall patch of the 2.0

    Hi Joe, awesome playing! I see that you're playing a ST-213. And it seems to stay in tune quite well. I just got one (Awesome guitar btw) but stock it doesn't stay 100% in tune after big bends. I have the trem set up floating with the 2 outside mounting screws in a bit deeper than the 4 middle ones. I put on a roller string tree and lubed the nut, and that helped, but it's still not quite there. I see you've changed out the nut (and scalloped it of course hehe) Have you done any other mods on it to improve tuning stability? Or just any tips for tuning stability in general?

  • @joestump1443

    @joestump1443

    7 жыл бұрын

    thanks man- As far as mods to the ST-213 on this one I`ve got a graph tech nut (use those on most of my ESP`s that should help tuning) I`ve got an older Dimarzio YJM in the neck , the Duncan Fury in the bridge and I also use the Duncan YJM high speed volume pot . I float the bridge so my low E pulls up to G (standard Blackmore/Malmsteen way to float the trem)

    check your headstock's tuner holes diameter and add staggered locking tuners(that means no string trees they cause problems anyways),tusq xl with a tiny bit of lub or even better lsr roller nut,bladerunner strat trem with maglok if you want your doublestop bends to stay in tune and still keep the classic looks....or stetsbar trem if you dont want classic looks with again....staggered locking tuners,good nut(but it works like a charm on it's own allready even for double stops,the range is great too,you can go up a 4th and a min9 lower depending on your string gauge)....either way you choose will have you very satisfied

    This particular track is predominantly in Hungarian minor and is heavily inspired by Ritchie Blackmore , anyone familiar with Ritchie's playing would hear this right away . While I love Yngwie and he's been a great inspiration to me this track really has little to do with his impact on my playing. You should be a bit more educated about this style of music before posting comments.

    I clicked on this to see his economy picking however the Neoclassical rock sound grates on my ears as I know the diminished and half diminished resolutions are really boring and predictable. I though this music was still in the mid 80s where it belongs...lol. There is such a vast array of tones and flavours to be had when you understand harmony and employ modal variations that a neoclassical fusion part should only exist in a song as a motif or for just a couple of bars not the entire piece. C'mon guys learn the nuts and bolts of music and don't end up playing this style for your entire musical journey!
