I was an absolute Eddie Van Halen fanatic around 1984-1988. No one could come close to him, as far as I was concerned ( in terms of tone and composition). Then. . . that all changed when I bought Joe's album, " Surfing With The Alien. " I still love Eddie but Satch really opened my ears to even more unique playing methods.
Finally an interviewer that just lets his guest talk without interruptions. Very interesting.
Always fascinating to hear Joe talk about his past experiences...I wish he would write a book like Malmsteen did.
I wish there were more videos of Joe talking about his old gear and guitar collection. It's really interesting to listen to
Thanks for posting this. 1st time I've gotten a good look at the Kramer Pacer.
Right on. Thanks for sharing.
The man is a lesson on eternal youth : )
Сатриани, божественный гитарист, но просто бездна обаяния. Слушать Его музыку можно бесконечно....👏👏👏👏👏
insane to think that in less than a year, Surfing will be 30 years old! Even this interview will be 10 years old!
I feel so inspired now! Joe will always be my favorite artist
fantastic video...
Awesome guy. Amazing player
I like that story of that last guitar. I have three(maybe 4 or 5) guitars like it. All are completely different makes and models but each have their own character and still play them, when they let me. I have Mother Goose(acoustic/electric cutaway), with it's loose, wobbly neck. I'm continually adjusting the truss rod because it slips out now and again. I've felt like throwing it(I have more than once, never too hard to damage it). But when it's in it's sweet spot it plays and sounds like no other. There's no room to get into Sally(Yamaha SGB????), Frankie(Custom/homemade unique electric my late cousin/guitar brother Russell picked up in Concord). I need to get some pics and post it on fb & twitter..
What I love about this, Joe's guitar/practice room looks like everyone else's room, a fantastically organized mess. I love it!!!
Comes out in 2014. Called "Strange Beautiful Music"
Dude was thinking of going for a handshake. Barely avoided awkwardness.
Seriously, how does someone give this a thumbs down? 21,530 views and three sad bastards find a way.
the master
No joe.... you were born a genius!
What is that guitar he is holding?
