I bought mine for 25 bucks. The hub was sheared off. I used a short section of 1 inch copper pipe and jb welded it over the broken pieces. Very strong now. Cleaned and rewound the spring and wala. Gonna try using a 1/8 tube inside the fuel line nipple to fix the leak. Thinking it pulls a little air sometimes and causes it to run a little funky at times.

Goin' back a lot of years with a fuzzy mind but I remember the Stihl 015/020 had that same fuel setup from the carb to the tank.

I wish I still had the strength to pull them over like you do.

I had a nice running one for some time and all of a sudden the thing quit. Ended up ripping the fuel line while playing around with it :( Was impressed with it when I had it running, easy starter too.

Leon, Looks like having several of these are needed just to get maybe one decent running saw. I have 4-5 of them. From early to later models with half wrap handle to full wrap handle.

I bought a NOS recoil for my pm6, and it lasted 5 mins. I was able to install small rivets to get it fired again, but they don't last very long.

Hi Leon. I KNOW THIS IS NOT A Q&A CHANNEL. BUT.. I need your help. I need to remove the oil plunger on my Homelite XL Automatic Oiling saw.. For some reason it doesn't want to come out. I grab the entire gasket and pull , put to no avail. I'm afraid if I pull to hard that it will be destroyed. THE REASON I WANT TO TAKE IT OUT IS BECAUSE I'M NOT GETTING ANY OIL TO THE CHAIN... The saw runs good, the small hoses are in the right place,, the duck Bill's are installed. The oil filter is new. HELP PLEASE!! QUESTION. Is there a special way to get this out?? QUESTION. Do you have a replacement part for this .. I think it's, Plunger oil pump #, A-12356-B .. not sure.. The saw is a , plastic housing Homelite xl TEXTRON Automatic oiling chain saw. ** I would like to buy a replacement plunger/diaphragm??? Also ** 2 Tank caps, with the cork o- ring inside of each cap.. ** Or just 2 CORK O- RINGS. for my existing oil & gas caps.. I don't know the serial number or year . Thanks for your help.

The starter parts are a known weak point of the PM6.

For the amount of problems these saws have, and the amount of time and money it takes to fix and maintain them, I would just hang it on the wall or send it down the road.

I hate those power mac 6's the design of the carb is questionable at best and the shitty design of the drum they either needed to make it all metal or all plastic and the nos replacements come allready cracked iv broke 3 there a factory defect idk why they didnt recall em they put out a fix for it an all plastic updated drum but if you can find one there ungodly exspensive those pm 6 drums are notorious
