Unfortunately he’s done some seriously bad interviews fairly recently (terrible bootlicking and propaganda-ish) on his podcast with Michelle Obama, Hillary, and Bruce Springsteen. Other than those interviews, I think Conan always makes things FUNNY!

Fun fact: Conan's channel, here on KZread is "Team Coco", every other host flat out has their name. Conan didn't even put his name, he put "Coco" and added "Team" before it meaning he sees his show and channel as a team and consideres everyone working for him as a part of it.

Conan O'Brien has honestly brought me so many hours of entertainment. Just so much laughter alongside Andy Richter & their team with their skits, interviews (especially interviews with comedians), and their "remotes". For me there is no one better in that medium, he towers over them all. (Literally as well lol)

I was sad seeing Conan in the thumbnail but I'm very happy to find that the majority of the comments are just people defending Conan and crowning him the GOAT and the true king of late night . He didn't do it the traditional way,he did it Conan's way. He flipped it around and made it genuinely fun and he is naturally funny even funnier when it's unscripted. he treats his employees well and interacts with them which is way more fun to watch than just some interview with a celebrity(except for legends like Bill Burr, Norm McDonald and Don Rickles).And he's got the best sidekick of all time with the best one liners that steals the show,he's loyal to him,they got great comedic chemistry, easily he best late night duo. What I like most about him is that he tries to make his guest comfortable when they're nervous and makes fun of himself instead of mocking others to get a cheap laugh and he really connects well with normal ordinary people all over the world. His brand of comedy works internationally. So happy to see him succeed even though he had to go through some shitty things. Can't wait to see what he's got for us in his new show on HBO. Team COCO all the way!

Conan is different. Im from India but i can feel his good natured rustic Irish vibes. Gotta love the man! Just that something about him i can’t explain

when I saw the title I came here to defend Conan but my bois here all loving Conan.

Conan is a pretty genuine dude tbh....he could be left-liberal and some folks might simply hate him for that but you must agree that unlike the rest he doesn't shove his ideology on you and doesn't scrutinise you if you don't think the way he does. Aside from our differences in politics, I have always really enjoyed Conan's comedy and show. Unfortunately I think he's pressured to interject politics into his show, not because he actually wants to.

Like the rest of us, I'm here say: Yes, Conan. BUT ALSO, Craig Ferguson, the most criminally underrated talk-show host ever.

Carson was the man. And we shouldn’t remember him from the end of his life. He wanted privacy. He was the absolute best ever. He never played sides and just wanted people to laugh and smile. He was unreal talented.

Yeah there are always exceptional bright spots in the sea of safe. Conan on Late Night back in the 90s was probably more edgy than anything else. That was golden and subversive and irreverent as corporate TV talk shows got.

Conan with Andy on the side is one wise bunch. Best talk show host ever.

Graham Norton is currently the best talk show host hands down.

When I watched Conan for the first time I was like, “wow, somebody has my sense of humor”

Conan is in another field from the rest of them though

Out of all the hosts of the past 20 years the hall of fame still belongs to Conan, David Letterman, Craig Ferguson, and Graham Norton. Talk shows may be dying but those men are the reason that medium has persevered as long as it has.

I miss Craig Ferguson. He just had people on and improvised. No pre interview no questions..he even tore apart the "paper with questions" as a meme. This also meant he only had guests on who were comfortable doing that and it was very natural to just show up goof around

Eric Andre deserves to be in the running purely based on his iconoclastic butchering of what late night was supposed to be. And on a side note I think Norm MacDonald really needed his own late night show but Netflix dropped the ball on that and most people don't understand his humor.

@@jflanagan9696 It's because of Jon that an entire generation grew up thinking political satire was the news. And as you noted, whenever he was called out on those biased inaccuracies, he would fall behind the "we're just a comedy show" defense. He's more than willing to use his platform to promote his agenda...but completely unwilling to accept the responsibility and culpability he has in/for the messages that are spread from it. His show was clearly an attempt to influence the minds of a younger, less informed, generation. His show wasn't always like that. They used to lambaste everyone. Until he sold out to the 'us vs. them' mindset of the MSM...and that was that for impartiality. I lost a lot of respect for Jon over the years...although tbh, Trevor Noah is a whole lot worse.

I grew up with Conan and Craig Ferguson back to back they were the best on cbs

I legit came here to defend Conan and was stunned seeing other people do the same.

Craig Ferguson was the only late night talk show personality I could watch. Sadly he got tired of the bs and moved on...

The Alpha Male yes Craig was good. Never took himself seriously to the point that the guests were never sure what to say or do. Never felt that there was any agenda with him other than to be different to the other shows but he got pushed out and replaced with James corden who is trying to be the same as the other shows where he is pandering to guests and have scripted questions and story’s as they got something to sell or promote.

Craig Ferguson was great. That's why there are entire youtube channels dedicated to compilations fron his interviews on that show. No chance of people looking back at 6 year old Fallon interviews/monologues

Conan is still great because he doesn’t make fun of presidents and his monologue doesn’t involve bashing trump every night.

Johnny Carson made the cigarette reference in the 70's long before he retired. He died of respiratory failure due to emphysema at 79, not cancer. He smoked 4 packs of Pall Malls a day & made it to 79. He was always shy & introverted. He was the opposite of what you saw on tv in private life.

I remember Craig Ferguson’s late night show-that was a genius piece of television.

Well, Conan is funny. But my personal favourite is Craig Ferguson.

If he'd stop doing ridiculous stupid shit every single day, they'd stop making fun of him for it. But since Donald Trump is a caricature of a President, and doesn't actually understand how to act like a human being, he can't help but give them ammunition. And when the President of the United States talks the same way that the crazy hobo screaming on the corner does, it's pretty reasonable to rip on him for it. Conan O'Brien and that Craig Ferguson dude are the two exceptions for smart talk show hosts

Conan is genuine. Conan is smart. Conan is weird and funny af. His brand of weird comedy inspired the likes of John Mulaney and Bill Hader and many more. People like Louis CK, Robert Smigel and Bob Odenkirk wrote for his show and went on to find fame and acclaim in their respective careers. People like John Krasinski, Vanessa Bayer, Mindy Kaling, Ellie Kemper interned for him before they became famous. Howard Stern said Conan was the best interview of his life. Conan is the best late-night host. Period. I rest my case.

Great to see all this unanimous support of Conan in the comments. Shows how badly NBC screwed up when they did him dirty. He may have lost a lot of older viewers, but his popularity among the younger demographics was unrivalled. That's the most crucial demographic to capture, especially when you want your show to sustain long-term success.

I always thought Craig Ferguson was criminally underrated.

Craig Ferguson was the best in terms of going rogue with the set ups of talk shows. He went against the main principles of usual talk shows and it was naturally thrilling and entertaining. One of a kind which unfortunately we will never someone like him again

Genuienly the most amazing hour of television was an episode during the writers strike i believe where Craig Ferguson brought on Steven Wright for an hour and just talked. I remember being 13ish and realizing how unique qn experience it was to see
