Rogan said a while back that he was in Mexico with his family at a resort and when they got tho the edge of the little resort town there was a police or military checkpoint (can’t recall which specifically) that were there to protect the tourists and the tourism industry.

There are drugs that will destory a person no matter how you regulate it. Meth or Crack is a good example. But we should do it with some of the drugs for sure. Clean Heroin isnt as bad, there are people on it for decades and still do a good job at work.

But accents change, it tends to take about 3 years. And in about 8 at minimum your accent is mostly gone. I really like this guys books. Hes one of the few non fiction authors who’s books I’ve reread. They are perfect for when I was working overnight in a convenience store and wanted to do something other than stare at my phone when it was slow. I also can tell this guy is a real deal journalist who is a different breed than most, notice how he didn’t try to pimp his books one time, super refreshing, lol. If you are interested in this type of stuff buy either of his books: el narco or gangster warlords (I haven’t read his other book about the America-Mexico gun pipeline yet but I’m sure it’s dope too) you won’t be able to put it down!

Not that simple, cartel profits are so diversified. Human trafficking is hugely profitable. The solution isn’t that simple, Coke isn’t nearly as profitable as fentanyl either

The real solution is legalise drugs and put them in the hands of pharmacists and doctors and stop empowering criminals to profit off this massive market that will not go away!!! You can tax them and put that money into schools and infrastructure and other cool projects rather than taking money from all that to fund a war against drugs that is destined to fail!!! Research Portugal's policy on drugs, it's quite remarkable what they've done with their country in regards to drugs!!!

that small town where there was an explosion is 15 minutes south of my home in Mexico.... I agree in that the demand of drugs in the U.S is incredibly profitable and seems unlikely that there could be a single solution. you take one out another one takes over. I live in Long Island where living expenses are extremely high yet you here of local drug dealers making good money. Cant imagine what what bringing that profit in dollars to mexico must be to the people profiting.

If people can't buy the drugs then they start trying to make them. That's a big problem. Pretty much what happened in Russia with heroin and the krockadil crises.

regardless of how much force we use they will keep popping back up. we get rid of one cartel and open the door for the next to take over. when you use full on force, which latin america has tried countless times, the casualties of civilians and the chaos in areas with innocents just increases even further. we need to change the way we think about substance abuse and legalize all these drugs that the cartel are profiting from. clean needles and a place to stay is a much better route than death by fentanyl. drug use is incredibly stigmatized and the sooner we learn to accept and attempt to change our viewpoints the sooner we’ll see a decline in overdoses

There are no simple solutions you take away one thing it will be replaced by another. As long as people want easy money there will be always situations like that. It’s the same thing when it comes to killing drug lords/their minions. They will be replaced by someone else who wants the power and money. It’s a never ending cycle.

My niece's dad was kidnapped by the cartel along with his brother. He was killed and the brother managed to escape. I think he was one of those guys that was victimized into that life.

Drug rehabilitation can be prevented by helping families develop healthy relationships with each other but that means parents need to work on themselves aswell
