    I’ve always wondered: Why would God punish his own creation? He creates us, with all of our flaws, and punishes us for not going against those flaws. all the comments stating how that religion is useful it gave humanity "good morals" that's simply not true there is evidence of early humans before the bible having morals as well, they were more primitive but still had senses of empath etc. Further more civilisations morals change over time, we look back on stuff our on what our ancestors used to think was appropriate and acceptable to do, they have been different through the ages and will change in the future, things we believe is appropriate and acceptable to do now, will certainly be looked back upon as not morally ok in the future. This isn't saying religion serves no purpose at all and that science is ultimately the only correct belief because that isn't true either but religion did not gift us with good morals, especially there are so many different different religions throughout, some that are barely even practiced today(Roman Gods, Aboriginal Australian Dreamtime and Nordic religion) they all have similar yet different morals, showing that morals are something created by humans and we all have a similar vague opinion(don't kill etc.) of them but when is comes down to specifics they differ.

Also the idea of teaching it to children is Terrible! all the blood and sacrifice and crusifiction.. i remember being inschool and being like "WTF" i can't explain and i don't want to explain the things a child acts upon after hearing this like that, especially the repenting or anything the likewise.

I would be lost like many people today otherwise to lust and sex before marriage, gambling, greed, obsession with power, hate, lies, pride and envy to name a few. What's terrible is thinking you know everything and making a conclusion that Jesus/God is not real... when science agrees He was a real person, who got crucified then there are 500 eye witnesses of his resurrection along with multiple Kings that were non Christian also confirming this. Yet you still don't believe. Even if Jesus were to appear to you right now and show you his holes in his hands and feet, most people today probably will still not believe. It's your pride unfortunately holding you back and closing your heart and mind. Do more research please, it's all there, and don't get me started on all the current day miracles like the apparition of Mary our Mother at a Church in Zaitoun, Cairo as one of many examples. God Bless.

Unfortunately many Christians take this humble honesty as an attack. I'm not saying I know it's false, I'm saying I could be wrong in thinking it's true, and that I actually don't know. It'd be prideful of me to say "because I believe and want this to be real, that means I'm automatically right and I can't possabily be wrong". If you're going to question religion, also question Atheism. As a Christian, if I didn't question religion as a whole, I'd be polytheist, an omnist, or an Atheist, but definitely not a Christian, not a Hindu, Jewish, Buddhist, Islamic, ect. Saying that because someone believes in God, a god or gods, a flying spaghetti monster, ect. is stupid and makes you just as stupid. When going into a debate or posting a YT comment challenging someone's beliefs/religion, assume the person has solid reasons as for why they believe something. When you don't do this, you get made a fool of on the debate stage or in the comments section--Christian, Atheist, or whatever, it doesn't matter. There are many people who convert to religions, namely Christianity and Islam, for varying reasons. Unsatisfactory answers for anomalies and events from science, the evil or perceived evil they see in the world or the religious world they left, and so on. Calling people stupid or belittling them because they're not an Atheist or whatever is a bullying tactic and will only ingrain what they believe to be true. The only people this works on are the weak-minded individuals--with exceptions of course. Religion does the same to people as well, not just Atheism. You want to convert people? Have honest conversations free of name calling, give evidence for your beliefs and why theirs are perhaps wrong, but never bully people into submission. Moving on... The Fundamentalist Christians who threatened people for thinking on their own, or even proposing that women can wear.... jeans *GASP*, have largely died off--thank God--or have backed away into their "safe place"--the congregation of 10 people they join on Sunday to hear some closed-minded pastor confirm their extrabiblical and BS beliefs (let me also state that many Christians follow rules that are not in the Bible, so when attacking us, please keep this in mind). If you're an Atheist wanting to prove religion is a farce and an outdated leftover from our past, then stop exclusively (or seemingly so) attacking Christens and move on to all the other mainline religions. "Christians don't like gays." Islam slaughters gays. "Christians have ridiculous beliefs." So has science, also, Hindu religious texts say the world is held up by for elephants on the back of a giant turtle. "Christians don't believe women are equal to men." First off, most do, but we do believe in gender roles (as to the extent, that's up for debate); second, if you're gonna attack Christians over this, also attack Islam and Buddhism. I am a Christians because A) that's how I was raised, B) I have thought for myself and come to my own conclusion that God is real, C) I find no other religion or set of beliefs to be as true as those that God has spoken to us through His word. I plan on teaching my kids about God when I have a family. If my kids question Christianity, and they should, I'll talk with them and answer their questions to the best of my ability as any good parent should. If my kids leave the faith when they're older I will still love them and pray they return to it.

  • @NoobToobJamarMemes

    @NoobToobJamarMemes

    2 жыл бұрын

    (CONTINUED) "You're limiting the child's beliefs, leaving them unfree to explore other options." And you are doing the same by limiting them to one set of beliefs as well. If raising a child in a religion is indoctrination, can the same not be said for raising a child as an Atheist? "I stand with science." As do I in most cases, but the theories, yes theories, for how everything as we know it came about are changing and leave much to be desired. Just to clear up any confusion, I do not think Atheists, Islamists, Jews, Hindus, etc. are stupid for believing what they believe. You're only stupid for not questioning what you believe. You could be right, you also might not be. But you will never know because you never asked. But I do think all of them are wrong. You may agree you may disagree. But thank you for reading and I hope I at least shed some light on things.

There's no comparison, and reasonable people shouldn't dabble in faith, only beliefs with demonstrability. Also the big bang and evolution are scientific theories, not the colloquial definition of a theory. Look up the definition.

    The Big Bang and evolution are _scientific_ theories. Models of reality which correspond extremely strongly with reality. Unlike the theory of "God". What testable predictions of reality does the theory of God make? The universe looks precisely like what you would expect if there was no God, no Creator, but is governed by naturalistic principles. Naturalism makes predictions about reality, and those predictions correspond to reality.

I believe Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself on our behalf so we don't have to pay the penalty of our sin. But even though I don't believe I'm wrong in my convictions, if I was, it doesn't make the truth of everything different. If the truth was nothingness then that would be the truth whether I believed it or not. My truth and your truth is not the truth. There is only The Truth. I appreciate the dialogue.

It's all about how you teach the concept of spirituality that really matters. There are SO many "christians" out there that dont reflect the title at all. People are even teaching the bible wrong. The bible never negates science. Science only explains Gods craft. However, spirituality teaches the meaning behind it. The 2 idealologies do MERGE

    They do not compliment each other at all. Science demands evidence and reason. Religion demands faith and uncritical thinking. The Bible makes several claims that are refuted by science. And as science explains more and more of our world, the less need there is for people to invoke god as a reason for things. The concept of spirituality has nothing to do with it. It’s about facts and evidence.

  • @ronaldsmith663

    @ronaldsmith663

    @@roems6396 science just explains Gods mysteries. You wouldn’t have a lot of science today if it wasn’t for spirituality. God isn’t an excuse to fill in the blanks of science. Science is just the reasoning behind vast Gods blueprint. Also, there aren’t too many claims in the Bible the science refutes spirituality because if you’ve ever picked up a Bible, you’d know it’s not trying to explain the world around us. The Bible strengthens peoples morality, it rarely mentions anything scientific. So saying that science ‘refutes’ spirituality is kinda weird since scientific claims aren’t even rlly mentioned.

    Science never said there was nothing in the beginning, then the Big Bang happened. Science simply discovered that there was a Big Bang very near the beginning, but we have no idea what was before that (I say 'before', but a better word would be 'outside', since time couldn't have started until space started expanding, because time is tied to space). So it is still possible that there was a 'god', just that there is no evidence for that.
