    People can be so ignorant, keto you will lose fat depending on many factors, I.e metabolism, cal intake, how active you are, fibre in your diet. This guy is an athlete, he burns tons everyday training and that's why he's slim but guess what? he's way healthier than pretty much everyone here 🤦‍♂️ yet these same people probably look at bodybuilders and think they are healthy when they are pumping themselves with steroids, eating the same 5/6 meals a day, doing zero cardio off season 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

This dude trains for hours twice a day he burns thousands of calories a day. It's extremely difficult. Look at Lance Armstrong and how his diet used to be, he would eat thousands upon thousands of calories a day yet he looked like a twig. Im trying keto now and i like it. I have noticed a decline in explosiveness and the length i am able to train for. I was working out an hour and a half everyday before the keto but now i get pretty tired after about 45 mins. I started lifting heavier and shortened the duration of my workouts. The weird thing is i can run at a slow distance for a long period of time but ironically on the keto diet you dont have to worry about burning calories. Im going to get rid of some more excess body fat and then up my training and start a carb cycling. Ive noticed with keto you have to be very strategic with the amount you train and the time you use to recover.

    I'm no dietician, but here's my layman's prediction for what medical science will discover in the next decade… No, keto isn't for everybody. Nor should it be a permanent lifestyle change (unless you're epileptic). But metabolic flexibility is key to good health. And keto is one way to improve your metabolic flexibility if you've ruined it via a lifetime of snacking on simple carbs.

    I think medical science will always find a way to knock an old trend and start a new one. Thats how they stay relevant. They build fear around old traditions and build benefits around new ones. I think one thing is safe to say. Sugar is bad also flour or any man made carbs. I think if you eat potatoes, oats, grains, lentils, beans, and rice you should be fine. its when you get into pastries and doughnuts, bread, breaded meats and stuff that carbs begin to get really bad

    @angrykulla I agree, I have done many diets, one of the best ways to diet for anyone is to calorie control, like 1800cal a day, I would shop for a week and each week the sugars would become less and less in the basket and veg and other items like soup and more complex carbs rise to the top, till eventually you end up with a near perfect balance of meats veg and carbs, its amazing because I was eating meals that I would never have thought to make, your body just knows what it needs when food is short.

    Carel Joubert i was never really overweight so for me a nice flat tummy is the goal. If you are looking to loose quite a lot you should try all out keto and intermittent fasting. When you get to a place were you are happy you can re introduce a treat here and there as long as you keep to reasonable guidelines. For me it's 100g'ish protein, 100g'ish carbs and I don't even count the fats. Without sugars the fats just run through me. Check out Dr Berg on KZread. It's more or less his plan I follow. Good luck friend.

    Yeah, me too. A loose Keto. I eat lots of green veggies, I don't go nuts with the fat. I don't eat all day, or eat fat bombs. I don't count calories, I just eat balanced meals that lean toward more fat and less protein. Inflammation down, weight down., energy up, blood sugar regulated, etc.

  • @1Howdy1

    @1Howdy1

    6 жыл бұрын

    I've been on it a year. Major lactic muscle problems at first, but stabilized after a month. Semi-fast, eat between 9 - 5. I don't count calories, don't care about fat. Weight hasn't changed all that much, but much leaner at about 5 pound loss. I don't think of balanced meals - you can eat quite a bit if you don't eat sugar or grain. I think in terms of fiber with every meal - before fat. Breakfast is always slice of bacon and two eggs, but the fiber is either an apple, orange, artichoke hearts, (or just munch a couple broccoli flowers when in a hurry - broccoli for breakfast tastes like crap, but I sure feel great after). Cheese? Oh yeah. Not balanced, but in terms of fiber, fat, and protein. Even the fructose from an apple lasts me for a couple hours. Not meals, but eat within my window hungry or not. Without the carbs, not hungry for meals and tend to graze every few hours, like just eat a whole bag of veggies with butter and little cheese and marinara for lunch. It's been an amazing ride that's almost reversed a lifetime of trying to stay healthy on the food pyramid and/or a meatless diet. One unintended surprise is salt retention. I've increased my salt intake, like salting my bacon and eggs, and my sodium levels right now is 139 out of a 135 - 145 range. Health Care needs to catch up. We need to change what we mean by diet.

    Depends on what you mean by "mildly cheat." If you're doing a keto diet and then you go to a party, drink some beer, eat a non-keto meal, etc, and the next day you're back on a keto plan, you won't pack on the pounds. If you take a break from it and eat whatever you want, whenever you want for weeks or months, then yes, you will likely gain a fair amount of weight back.

You either want to be on a ketogenic diet or not , get a grip guys 🤔 good luck guys it takes time

    For the people who have problems with the diet it is because the guild lines for eating vary widely. You are not suppose to consume any more than 4 to 6 ounces of meat per meal so as to not spike insulin. You are doing Keto WRONG. Do Dr. Eric Berg and you will succeed. This in response to comments below people having trouble and misunderstanding that you are suppose to eat sides of beef and mass quantities of pork bellies, this is wrong. The goal for proper Keto is to have your blood sugar remain the same after you consume your meal as it was before you started eating. This goal coupled with intermittent fasting allows for maximum results.

    I was 91kg just over a year ago, quite chubby/fat and decided to lose weight, I counted calories and lost 4kg over about 8 months, it was pretty difficult because I felt tired whenever in deficit and I cheated a lot. Anyway I switched to a keto diet and went from 87 to 79kg in 6 weeks without counting any calories, *and* I stopped intermittent fasting, just eat when I feel like it. I will say however when doing 5x5 low rep sets in the gym my performance has decreased, either due to weight loss or losing maximum capacity in Muay Thai by a few 'percentage' points in speed/power. Worth it for me being an average person though, it's a great way to get lean.

    I’m glad joe addressed that Keto isn’t for everyone. I eat a pretty standard diet, but recently I’ve been trying to transition to vegan because it’s the only thing that keeps my Rheumatoid Arthritis at bay. I’ve noticed the more processed foods and animal products I eat, the more swollen joints I get in the morning. When I eat vegan, it’s like I don’t even have arthritis (it’s not a food allergy, RA runs in my family and I was diagnosed at 18). I don’t think there is a perfect diet for everyone, just like there are different body types and workouts to achieve the same goal. I think if I ever get fat I might try Keto, but it would be temporary. I don’t like how strict it is and how you have to keep your electrolytes in balance. One thing I have started to implement is Intermittent fasting though. It’s really helped me.
