    He's referring to Jordan Peterson when saying isolating and putting your kid in timeout after getting angry is harmful to their emotional development. I understand letting them express some of that anger, but if you let them become a raging monster without discipline, they'll think that's an okay thing no? So they will be more likely to throw a temper tantrum over everything, in the future.

  • @botondbakos5954

    @botondbakos5954

    You have to teach your child how to handle their anger, you shouldn't teach them to suppress it. When does responding to anger with anger or condemning it ever work? You have to teach your kid that it's okay to be angry for a good reason, they just can't let it totally overtake them. The problem is most adults can't even handle their own emotions, let alone their children's emotions

    Dude, can't you do some research on a perspective other JP, before commenting? There are people here, Including me and others who have experienced being raised by parents like Jordan, who have come to their senses, and realized that it's stupid BULLSHIT. "Let them become a ranging monster"? You already assumed that not isolating a child, like Lobsterson promotes, caused children to become "monsters". Maybe check your ego and do research before having opinions.

    You should interview the woman who founded the Compassion in Prison project..a woman called Fritzy or something,amazing work she does with prison inmates who have suffered terrible abuse and neglect,its not excusing them or minmising some of the terrible things some of them have done but it clear to see that people who are terribly abused and suffer various types of traumas and violence etc are more likely to go onto to enact terrible acts of violence etc.Again it doesn't excuse them but we have to understand the conditions and the environments that shape us. + Also when we talk about the "human instinct"to do certain things like when you discussed Gurus and these shamsn etc who act out abuse...well very often it is the ways these "societies"or groups are oruganised in such ways that don't hold people accountable and when one person has such power and everyone else in the group worships and admires them as if they are infallible.It is as much about the system and structures we create that balance power and how it is used in a group of people.But ususally whenever someone gets that level of status or powerr it never ends well and too often people are ready to give up their power and discernment to belong or think someone else has the answers.

    1.04.40 is not just the "adhd brain". Some stimulants "calm" you in a way because the fact thst make your brain be able to focus automatically makes your compulsive thought process to stop. I dont have ADHD but i have enjoyed a certain calmness with good high purity lines of cocaine (at the beggining, then once you redose the over stimulation sets in), and also with 2-floroamphetamine. In fact i have even taken naps on 2-fluoroamphetamine. There are some stimulants that act like this. Just because is a stimulant it does not mean it makes you edgy. At the contrary. It stimulates= makes you focus. Most poeple that say they have ADHD is kind of bullshit. There might be some extreme cases where there is an extreme form of anxiety, but overall almost all people suffer from compulsive thought activity (ego consciousness), therefore some stimulants "fix" this for some hours. It does not have anything to do with ADHD and it works for all like that. You are not special. All people that try 2-flouroamphetamine will feel a certain calmness or stoney feeling, unless they take too much or tolerance grows. Will tend to happen very fast. Overall, ADHD is bullshit. But of course those who use that as an identity for their ego character wont like to accept this truth.

    How do we assess what is "failure and success"...the athlete say who has trained and focused purely on their own achievement or winning might also be the selfish,neglectful terrible father or friend. I'm not saying don't go for excellence,don't not push yourself in whatever endeavour it maybe but also the person who goes out to work everyday and looks after their family or pays their bills or looks after people in their community or brings up their children well and values their relationships...are they "failures"because they haven't won gold medals or become rich or famous ? We really need to assess what success and failure look like and our culture has become more and more obsessed with fame and wealth when I remember days when other aspirations were seen as valuable. Working on yourself,pushing yourself out of your comfort zone,confrinting and conquering fears rather than being limited and dictated to by them...that is the indication of success..growth,achieving wholeness and purpose and particualrly healthy relationship which have been shown again and again to be the biggest indicator of happeiness and health

    The best podcast ever witnessed and I watch a lot of podcasts Joe and Gabor for future president and vice president nominees. I only wish that my parents would have picked me up when I needed them just simply pick me up at me on the back and tell me everything is going to be okay If that would have occured more in my life. I would not be suffering from childhood trauma and childhood emotional neglect it's real I promise you it's very very real and it's not trauma is not what happened it's how you and your mind process what happened and for some people it's totally 100% devastation Love is a powerful four-letter word it's an extremely powerful four-letter word and along with love you get words like warmth cuddle happiness desire abilities courage and I could go on and on with these words It takes love to get these words to start sprinkling all over your psyche but love cannot be sprinkled if you're raised in a household that is nothing but stress nothing but drama nothing but screaming nothing but spanking nothing but nothing but nothing it's a way for me to better understand why I am PTSD I don't mind the title it's what it is I'm glad that the diagnosis that it was placed upon me because if it's traumatic stress disorder that's exactly what it is fight or flight run run run run or turn around and fight that's trauma! It is so hard to get people to understand I'm not I'm not a bad person I'm broken mentally because of things that are inside of me that I can't speak about that's all it's called my traumatic brain welcome anyone for any comments thank you

    Can we agree, that if a child is spoiled with care and given everything in life, that child grows up not understanding rejection and typically these are the poeple who are the most emotionally unstable, sometimes violent and unaccepting of rejection. So there is something to be said about not constantly rewarding a crying child. Everything in moderation is key I feel.

  • @upendasana7857

    @upendasana7857

    3 күн бұрын

    You obviously have completely missed his point.You cannot "spoil"a child by meeting their NEEDS.By making a child feel safe and heard and met does not "spoil"a child.Responding to a childs real needs does not lead to self indulegent,violent or emotionally unstable people who cannot handle rejection,the exact opposite is in fact true.The child that does not have its emotional needs met is the one likely to develop antisocial or emotioanlly unstable behaviours. The child whose nervous system was regulated by healthy emotional attachment and attunement and set healthy boundaries is most likely to grow up to be responsible,take accountability for their actions,have healthy relationships that involved give and take,be self motivated and productive. What does it mean to be "given everything"in life ? you mean materially ? given presents and toys? thats NOT the same as meeting the emotional needs of a child and a parent who also knows how to say NO when they know its for the good of a child.Who doesn't shame a child,or lose control and project their anger on the child. You can never "spoil"a child through love or too much "love"...as they say if its a parent who coddles a child its about their own needs but its not "love". You cannot moderate love or the amount of love,its more about knowing what is loving and what isn't and indulging a child is not the same as "love" Also when you pick up or comfort a child who is crying is not "rewarding"them,its helping them regulate and rassure them,its the unhelf child,the uncomfroted child who is most likely to not have emotional stabiltiy or regulation.You should really read up on some child development and psychology.
