When I hear this song I think of my girls and my "third kid". Biologically he is not mine but I love him as deeply as any mother would love her child. He's had such a difficult life and I want so badly to be able to protect him and give him a normal life, not perfect, just normal. It is so hard for him to trust or open up to anyone and yet somehow we bonded. When the song says "you are sewn into my heart" that explains how I feel perfectly. He wasn't born to me but he is sewn into my heart. I could no more turn my back on him than I could my own two girls.
