.@@JazzVideoGuy He and Grossman are two that inspired me to choose tenor when transferring from clarinet. Joe was an underrated flautist, as well.

Also: Joe Farrell would be dead in less than a year after this video was recorded. Unreal.

I saw Joe Henderson and Joe Farrell live before, but not Bob Berg! They all sound great! But for me, the definitive version will always be the original with Sonny Rollins and John Coltrane!

Another amazing video treasure! Three tenor sax giants. I was surprised to see Joe Farrell. He passed in around 1986 at age 48, or so I thought. On this ‘85 video he is playing strong and beautifully. I love all three of these immortals. Im not certain who the drummer is. Do you know?

In this video, Bob is playing an SBA Selmer tenor, Joe is on a Mk Vl. In 1985 , Joe was playing a Selmer SA80 tenor and Bob Berg was playing a Selmer Mk VI. Both observations make me think this is earlier than 1985, perhaps closer to 1980.

Great video, Thank you SO much for posting. A rare treat. .... None of them sound comfortable playing this blues. From the date, it looks like Joe died a year after this video. Sad, all 3 are gone. Fortunately I got to see all 3 play. Legends RIP.
