I think this may be the only guy to actually just be a gentleman. Not using to flirt, seem condescending or passive aggressive, get laid, or get righteously angry. He's also not overly polite or disrespectful to anyone without due. And the few times we see otherwise, you can see genuine care behind everything.

The scene of Joe and Clarisse dancing after Mia has left is my favourite out of both the movies "you've been wearing black too long." It is so simple yet so elegant, classy and beautiful. While their wedding is my favourite from "Royal Engagement."

After 22 years, Joe's small proud smile after Mia and Lilly laugh at the hearse joke is still one of my top Princess Diaries moments 💖

Joe is one of the very best parts of those movies and the romance between Joe and Clarisse was so beautiful, tender and intimate. I loved this character and his romance with his queen when I was younger, but I feel I appreciated them even better when I was an adult.

One of the best parts about this relationship is that it's not something you see often. A romance as sweet and gentles as this blossoming between people older than 40 or 50 (and I'm only guessing) is so rare. Every movie focuses on younger and younger people finding the love of their life. Not only that, but Clarisse is finding the love of her life AFTER a divorce and children. Most media really makes it seem like your life is over by 30.

This is one of those actors you forget their name but always remember their roles

Joe talking about the pumps (do I want them wrapped or do I want to wear them), the protective caring nature of his relationship with Mia, especially when he says ‘if you hurt my girl, you will answer directly to me’ and the fact that he essentially sassed the queen when he said she was too harsh on her granddaughter. He is badass. And that hearse comment was brilliant🤣🤣🤣 I need to watch these films again it’s been too long😭😭

That's why we love Joe. Love this ❤

Honestly I love every scene he is in. My favorite line from the second movie is the “if you hurt my girl.” But for the first movie it had to be “it’s not a doggy on dashboard.” I will go down laugh with the comment.

Elizondo is the utlimate rock when it comes to advice, protect and father the girls! He's Julia Robert's rock in Pretty woman, Anne Hataway's in the Princess diaries, ... and I'm pretty sure I've seen him be the same rock for an other pretty girl several times. They seem to cast him the same parts every time, but he does it so good I'm not complaining

This man...this man is phenomenal. Adored him in Pretty Woman and in Princess Diaries.

I don't think I have ever encountered a Hector Elizondo role I didn't like. He is eminently watchable.
