Ridiculous situation. This lady is absolutely right. Why burden those that pay for their electricity when there are huge debts from government departments and others.

Absolutely, couldn't agree more. I'm a prepaid user and I refuse to pay this surcharge, I will go without electricity if I need to. The other stupid thing is most prepaid users can't afford an extra R200 so they will now resort to illegal connections to get electricity instead. Illegal connections and infrastructure damage go up, revenue goes down, that is the result of this. Anyone with half a brain can see that.

This will just promote more bridging

I pay rent on top of that because I stay in Roodepoort when I buy R200 electricity I only get about 43 units, may God have Mercy on us🙏🏻

R200 per month is too much. Electricity is already so expensive for a lot of people who don't earn a living wage.

Reality. Eskom jobbed out electricity provision. Their agreement should have included funds for infrasture. Now people who pay must subsidise their inefficiency. Where does the money currently collected go?
