When I quit my job years ago, I had a lot of free “time” on my hands. But no job meant no money. And very soon found out that no money meant a loss of other freedoms I used to afford but no longer could (like afford better food, more travel, the ability to treat my friends and family to nice experiences). Those additional life luxuries all cost money. Having been through that, I’m not so convinced time is more important than money, but probably equally as important as money. What good is time without the money to fund the experiences you enjoy that often cost money? Double edged sword. The trick is to somehow find a happy balance between spare time and making enough money to pay for life.. And that’s not always easy.

I'd say maybe 10% of the population actually has a love and talent for knowledge, and those are the people who should go to college. The problem is our society has placed too high a value on "higher education", as if EVERYBODY should spend the time of their youth with their noses in books. People bring up past factory workers with their ability to support a wife/family/house etc. Those jobs were hideously awful. A lot of jobs are and have been awful. The difference being - you could establish some security and ownership, whereas today that sounds more difficult. I also think there has been a conspiracy around education that made some people very rich and put others in debt (slavery). Historically, this has been the goal of worldwide regimes. Simply because “you’re young and don’t understand the world and that’s just how life is” which is just plain shitty and untrue. While there are a lot of things I don’t know or understand and I get I have to do hard things I don’t like, I know for a fact those specific problems have solutions. I shouldn’t work for over a month making $15 an hr everyday for 8 hours and only come home with 250 bucks and then be fired and replaced. And my boss was a dick towards me. If I ever get a job again I’m going to find a way to make the fucks pay me. Otherwise I’ll be gone. “In my unfortunate financial situation I must be paid more. I’ve been a very valuable employee as you most certainly agree. Either pay me more or I’ll continue searching for another job that does”. Just say shit. Don’t be scared. Jobs aren’t serious. I was getting fucked for an hour of freezing cold hard manual labor, or just being bored out of my fuckin mind just to make less than what lunch costs me for that hour. And if they can’t, find another job and leave. If life gets too serious and you get into trouble, you’ve always got god on your side. These greedy fucks are going straight to hell. 70% of small businesses fail by their 10th year in business. We only have so many 10 year periods in our lives and we cannot plan a future when the economy is so undependable and volatile. This is unprecedented. You have to ask yourself why you are playing by their rules at all when the social contract is broken?

I have a small dormant one that I poured years into but would rather focus on enjoying my free time after finishing my 9 to 5. The pay isn't the greatest but I live frugal enough to save 20% and it's stress free. Nobody stands over my shoulder and as long as I get my work done, my hours are very flexible. Basically it's all about having a boss that isn't a dick. That said, if I could go back in time I would have never gone to college and instead started learning a good trade and investing in a safe well rounded portfolio of assets.

I think the problem isn't wages. The problem is that people have been enjoying a life standard that they don't deserve. America in particular has made a business decision to not let people live at a reasonable cost of living standard. You either have a 500k house or you have no house. You either have a 40k car or you have no car. Where are the frugal options? The business world knows that if they offered them then most people would choose a budget freindly option. Which isn't good for sales and growth. So they won't. The housing market in particular has been a huge pyramid scheme since we went off the gold standard back in the 70's. America has peaked at the 50's and has been on the decline ever since. When the world power is on the decline, it's just bad for most of the world. Especially in this day and age when we live in a gobal singular market. At the same time though China is rising once again. It won't be for probably another 50 - 100 years until China over takes America as the leading economic world power. So until that happens the world is sort of suffering this down trend. Think back to the great depression or Germany right before WW2. It didn't matter how hard you worked. How skilled you were. Or how in demand your profession was. You just simply have to deal with the fact that you're living in a time of economic dispare. The ones who were kind of wealthy and still had power were the super powerful. Like if you owned the Coke company. Or happened to be in a high ranking political or military position. For everyone else it's just not going to matter. It's not going to matter if you do content creating. Or starting your own business. Or hustling 3 side streams of income. Or trying to float that book idea. In the short term it might get you a leg up on others in the rat race. But it'll only be for a short period of time before it catches up with most everyone.

I guess my advice would be to start a hermit plan. Like Yoda exiling himself after the clone wars. You see the times coming. Find a way and a place that you can keep a low profile and hunker down for a good long time. I'm 47. So it's a little different for me having way fewer years ahead of me than behind at this point. I feel like we won't be seeing intolerable conditions for at least another 20 years. But for Gen Z and young Millenials.... Don't plan on raising a family, building a business or anything like that if you're struggling right now. Stay at home. (work your 40 hours a week) Save and invest. Do learn a skill that makes you needed. And if it ever becomes a buyer's market again, buy the most affordable place you can even if you don't like it. Renting is just going to lose you the game.

people are waking up and talking about what was inevitably going to happen in our civilasation. four generations, thats the timespan. first generation was in 1700, second in 1800, then 1900, and now 2000. Sociologist, or actually the father of sociology Ibn Khaldun explained how an empire falls, or how a civilasation collapses and shifts. similar to what you said in the video, it started with our great great great grandfathers building and establishing their own work, it was a network, you have something i want, i have something you want and we can make an honest living exchanging goods, currency looked a little different. then came his son and took on his fathers work because of, in short, collectivism. People held onto their beliefs, they held onto their values and morals. Then came the third generation, and his son had to follow his fathers footsteps because now its tradition, and at first we understand tradition we dont really question it, it works because, again, collectivism. then came the fourth generation, were we are now and we cant remember why the tradition is there in the first place, what does it matter for us what some great great great grandfather did at his time? Now we live in the zeitgeist society, they have put us in straitjackets and spoonfed us the opposite of collectivism which is individualism. do what makes you happy! make money in any fkn way possible! get this degree while paying tuition for it! get this house while paying mortgage for it! anything you want, you can get! but remember youll always be tied to the bank like a dog tied to a pole on the side of the road. well break up the nuclear family! now you get to be independant! lets introduce contraceptives! abortion! hormone pills! lets give the younger ones trauma, make them addicted to alcohol and drugs! lie and say its because of discrimination and racism! nothing to do with how the system is built! the way most are living is NOT sustainable, people are talking about now, things are quickly falling apart and deteriorating. soon something will happen, a revolution. one mistake the rich keep making is thinking humans are incapable of chaos, but its the very essence of us in some way. we get angry, and when enough people do they will not only demand change but act to make sure it happens

Jobs straight up reject people for having degrees as being "overqualified", and that's even when they know you'll take the wage on the job listing. So it's not all about them wanting to pay educated people less. And the jobs that actually pay well for educated employees, well they're cutthroat and have 100s of applicants on every job listing (because having a degree is so common now). So a lot of grads end up working in unskilled jobs for peanut wages.

Idk about your school, but my high school groomed us into going to college. Constantly reminded us to prepare for it and even held meetings to show us how to fill out a student loan application. They made it seem like it was the only option for our future. I'm sure schools everywhere are doing that. I remember my counselor acting almost like I F'd up my life because I used to screw around in school and my GPA dropped too low for the more prestigious schools. Showing me a list of colleges that I could still get into, and all I was thinking was "why should I care?". I didn't have plans involving getting a degree, and as soon as I gave college a shot and saw you had to pay $200+ just to APPLY and have a chance to go, I said nope. And most jobs, unless you're owning a business or have some other specific specialty where you can force higher pay for yourself, most jobs are barely allowing you to do more than break even unless you've already been invested in the business for 5+ years. Because even if 1600 is affordable, that's going to be at vest, more than 40% of your monthly income after taxes. Costs vary so I'm trying to be generous, but no matter how you slice it, average working people can't be spending so much on just one expense. This is a nightmare. Although community colleges aren’t free nationally, several states have instituted their own programs that make community colleges free for students. The eligibility requirements vary by state, but they typically offer free tuition to students that lived and attended high school in the state. Some states restrict free tuition to students studying certain majors, such as science or engineering, or who live in low-income households. In other states, free tuition at community colleges is available to all. Although these programs may tout free community college, keep in mind that the term usually refers only to tuition and school-required fees. Typically, you’re still responsible for covering your other expenses, such as room and board or transportation. As of August 2022, about half of U.S. states offer free community college for students in some form, including: Arkansas California Connecticut Delaware Georgia Hawaii Indiana Iowa Kansas Kentucky Louisiana Maryland Mississippi Missouri Montana Nevada New Jersey New York Oklahoma Oregon Rhode Island South Dakota Tennessee Utah Washington West Virginia@@AFollowerOfCanti

Some would require numerous variances, and years of court battles before you could even break ground Most of the commercial, and residential structures that he converted to apartments, and mixed use commercial/residential properties would not be possible today He owns 2 mobile home parks, neither of them that could be built today I've had to work much harder and smarter to achieve a fraction of what he'd achieved at my age, even with my insane work ethic, and very good investments

When it comes to getting a job, it has always been about supply and demand and it is still about supply and demand. 75 years ago, few people had an education, so if you did, you could easily get a good job. Today though, everyone has an education. What is rare today is the willingness to get dirty and do something manual with your hands - skilled trades. Electrician. Plumber. Carpenter. Odd jobs. No one wants to work hard (literally) because they all want to take their education and have white collar jobs in big office buildings. So you need to go where those people don't want to go, and if you do that you'll make your $50-$100 /hour and you'll be set. But yes, it'll be hard.

As a self taught artist and graphic designer. I promise you guys the majority of skills do not require you to go to college to learn. You can learn the same level of skill in a quarter of the time and network with others in your field at the same time. Not every skill is so easily accesible though so depending on what skills/career you want. Weigh up the pros and cons of going the college or self taught route, also consider how much employers in your industry value degrees over portfolios and stuff. Develop a skill that you not only enjoy but can open up a lot of avenues for you. Art for example is a skill with countless career paths, same with things like computer science, engineering etc.

My friend who went to job corps to become an electrician is making about 70k right now, and has a way higher earning potential compared to me. I have to offset the high entry/dead end nature of trucking with real estate and investing. It isn't so hopeless. Welders make great money still. Fishermen can make killer money. Theres always the oil rigs... I've only been driving for 6 years and I'm already in a financial situation where I could basically fuck around for most of my 30's and still have a good financial future. There's always robots but now I'm convinced if they take driving jobs pretty much everything else is short for this world, so then we are all either fucked or go into some kind of retirement/slavery.

In the USA, we study law after we finish a Bachelor's degree so we have to go into debt for undergraduate school and for law school. Law school alone can cost $300,000.00 if you do not get any scholarship or grant money. Undergrad could cost something similar especially if you go to a private university and have no scholarships or grants.

This is fkin insane here because they put a retirement which work in the following manner : The active (workers) are paying for the people retired. BUT, when THEY worked the economy was good and there was 4 peoples to pay 1 retired people. Now we are near to 1,5/1 but the economy is shit so we have bad jobs, and have to pay retired high payed people. Plus, they have the equivalent of 3000 billion euros in houses, and don't sell them, They keep everything, save their money, buy luxury SUV and go on vacation when we are slaving for them. This is insane

I was going strong last year but I am going through a separation with my woman of 7 years and will be moving out of our joined home soon. The business is rewarding but it is not secure. I have to work this shitty job at $13 an hour just so I can move out, I do plan on revisiting my business once I move. I paid for a website, I have thousands in inventory that I have invested in. I just need the mental clarity of having my own place to make the necessary moves (no pun intended) to make it successful, ultimately changing my life. How it is supposed to be. I come from nothing literal dirt. I grew up in the most dangerous gang infested ghettos in Los Angeles when I was very young. My dad is a drug addict so I never had anything given to me. Now at 33 years old I am still struggling and I have never owned a car. Anyways cheers! Thanks for the video and the motivation, keep it up you are going to go somewhere with this!

I just like the idea of KZread for me personally, All I do is read books and go try stuff until I find something that works for me, and then I talk about it. It's easier to watch a video of someone who summarizes the information than to read and find books yourself and that's why people watch, for convenience. I am just providing an easier option, and I get rewarded with attention and potentially money. The game is to provide value somehow to others, however, you can choose to do that in many different ways.

I appreciate and respect how you're going all in on your own business, and making your own way, thats dope! However, I disagree about jobs not being worth it. For most ppl, a good job is gonna be the foundation to get ahead. Your mom was able to help you get your camera/gear (start up costs for your business), but most ppl's start up money for their business ventures, investments, etc is gonna come from their job. Like you, I also recommend that ppl not fully rely on their jobs. I tell ppl to find a good job that requires certain skills that can be used to do that same job for themselves (as a business). A job is necessary to learn skills, learn how an industry works, build connections, etc. Also, jobs aren't soul sucking if they're just a stop on the road towards your overall goals. You gotta do what you gotta do to get where you're tryna go, and sometimes that might be a job you aren't the fondest of.

They didn't care about Netflix subscriptions, DoorDash, Starbucks, Wendy's or any of that other BS. They lived simply and saved their money frugally. The houses were much smaller, and now everyone wants a 2500+ square foot McMansion. That said, the gold standard going away and paper money has definitely made it harder in terms of being able to retain purchasing power for a future investment amount. Nonetheless, we also have many more opportunities to build wealth these days.

The only reason you can still get a trade job reasonably easily is because they're stigmatized and seen only as something you do when college doesn't work out. Pay is pretty good too. Eventually the only trades left that still pay anything will be the super dangerous ones like commercial diving and working on an oil rig, stuff that will always have a limited number of people lining up to apply for.

Bankruptcy in the US has changed. It used to be, as you say, "wipe the slate clean" if you have some small debt like credit cards. But now, they do an "ability to pay" assessment. So, say you are a doctor or lawyer. Your "ability to pay" is very high. If you declare bankruptcy, they will consolidate your debt, but you will have to pay it ALL back over time. Now, if you work at a convenience store, they may write off SOME of your debt, due to your lower "ability to pay", but plan on paying something. Bankruptcy isn't really a solution to anything. Your credit will be in the trash for 7 years too.
