Bureaucratic, nonsense questions. That's what I've realized in my few years of being interviewed for a job. They refuse to understand that for some jobs, most people are just trying to get by. They won't be pAsSioNatE about working the frozen yogurt machine. Some questions should be left out entirely out of interviews because they might trigger the interviewers own personal biases that they more than likely not going bypass. Imho.

Quick tips: Make up a story about your childhood around the business. If it's an ice cream stand, describe how excited you were when [descriptive, vivid, experience] that brings you joy. Or about how curious you were. People normally make up a story based on a logical reason like parent died cancer, this thing is healthy, etc., but it's actually much easier to make up a story based on feelings. It will sound like a long-living passion 'since you were little.'

Almost all mid level jobs have been gutted to part time minimum wage, or very close, with no benefits. Entry level is now code for bottom dollar with no benefits. It's now a wage category, not an honest measure of one's experience anymore. One of the many different ways that the middle class has been destroyed. Even degreed people with experience are now getting stuck with no better options today and it's all only getting worse. Employers know this and are taking full advantage of us. Total exploitation!

Dan Levesque why do you say it is empty hope? I walked years in shoes with worn-out soles (literally & figuratively) to make financial ends meet-I was sharing my experience, lesson, & wish for you. Your goals, situation, & pain are unique to you; however, looking at my own rocky road, I meant each word of encouragement-& do so now: periods of longing, hurt, & disappointment can produce an ever greater satisfaction in, enjoyment of, & gratitude for your longings fulfilled (small & large) on the other side. Life is not perfect (far from it) but take heart! You may not be able to do it all at once but even smallest changes can impact the geography of your life-like droplets of water which can erode boulders or erect mineral skyscrapers (eg, stalactites) within the darkest cave. God bless & keep you, make his face & favor shine upon you (& your efforts, desires, & relationships) & give you peace, joy, & life ever more abundantly

Thankfully my current boss didn't ask me any of the typical interview questions that you see in this video but he did ask me reasonable questions related to the job and my previous work experience. Maybe because he is young and can relate to being asked nonsense questions. Lol

Interviews are basically just a contest for random people to see who can bullsh*t the best. 🤷‍♀️ You know it's true. 😑

The entry-level thing is so accurate. It was so hard for me to transition from fast food to a decent job because everyone else seemed to have more experience than I did when applying for entry-level jobs. The struggle is so real

I swear to god if I manage to actually get an interview and someone asks me “why did you leave your last job” I’m gonna lose it. That’s a question that should be banned from interviews for a while.

I can't even get interviews for standard entry level jobs. My applications get rejected long before that becomes a possibility.
