    Eh, Brett Favre threw 5 touchdowns the day after his dad died. It was emotional because you could feel the lust even from a TV screen. Several athletes have had to preform while grieving a loss, they are all equal in my eyes.

    It's admirable and courageous of what Joannie went through. You really need some kind of solid mental fortitude to have to have to step up to the challenge at hand despite such tragic circumstance. By the way, since we're already at it with Olympic medalists, how bout make an Olympic video of Mao Asada as well. If anything, it is Mao Asada that deserves to be featured for doing some memorable performances for both in Vancouver and in Sochi.

    Given the first and second winners are two of the greatest of all time bronze was pretty great. The field was pretty much Yuna and Mao and the rest and she was first amongst the rest.

    So brave of her! It's interesting to note that back in 2006, Joannie's soon-to-be stepdad passed away (either a few weeks or a few months) before he and Joannie's mother Therese were supposed to get married. Joannie chose her long program music for her 2006 Olympic debut because her mother would listen to that music selection as solace following her fiance's death.

  • @sopranomegansaunders

    @sopranomegansaunders

    5 жыл бұрын

    Stephanie M You may want to double check your information because Thérèse’s fiancé Pierre was killed in 1975 and would never have been Joannie’s step-father as she wasn’t even born until 1986. Her parents were still married at the time of Thérèse’s death. You are, however, somewhat correct about her 2006 LP music (“Hymne à l’Amour”). Her choreographer actually initially chose it and Joannie had her mother listen to it to get her opinion and her mother burst in to tears. I just wanted to clear that up! 😊 There is an article in MacClean’s magazine with all of this information in it.

    I betcha it was an emotional Olympics for Joannie Rochette. Losing her mom before the figure skating competition. I remember that '10 Olympics in Vancouver. She took home a Bronze medal. She was happy to get a medal. A bronze medal was better than no medal. I felt Joannie's pain for that. Her mom would have been proud to take home a medal. It wasn't just for Joannie, but it was for her. She did it for her late mother.

    I figure skate and this is very touchy me because my moms helps me with everything I do for my skating. So... if my mother died the day before I would get on the ice for the Olympics, I would be bulging my eyes out as I got on to the ice... I would be saying a prayer that would keep me from getting injured and for my mum to be watching and cheering me on from heaven. I probably wouldn’t want to skate but I kn w that it would be for my own good and this would be me and my mums dream FINALY comming true. Admit it.. sometimes you wish your mom would just go away. But then when she died you wished that you would have never wished that she would just go away. Always love your mother because you know that sooner or later she will be gone.
