I’ll be the first to admit I was on Dana’s side when he was saying there would never be women’s divisions. For whatever reason it gave me a WNBA vibe. Glad to say I was completely wrong, and double stacking the talent is part of the reason we have a fight card every weekend now. Wouldn’t have ever believed myself a decade ago, but once I saw Zheng training with Saenchai I actually got wicked stoked to see these two square up and trade shots.

One thing i admire about Joanna is how she handled being champion. Whittaker and Rose both said the pressure was a little too much as a champ, but Joanna thrived in that position

Ariel asked JJ if she wants the fight to go into the championship rounds because she has more experience fighting 5 rounds. JJ is not a finisher so either JJ will get finished at some point or the fight will go into the championship rounds. It was a silly question.

If she loses this one she might as well retire - it would be incredibly unlikely she'll ever get the belt back. But if she wins then the division gets SUPER interesting again.

What worries me is that Joanna seems to focusing a bit more on modelling and the instagram life these days, it seems like she's gearing herself up for a life outside of fighting. Nothing wrong with any of that, but it doesn't lend itself to beating a young, focused lion like Zhang.

It is odd that she keeps saying Zhang is like Andrade. I see zero similarities in their styles. Zhang uses all limbs and has a ground game. Andrade just comes forward and throws hooks or goes for slams when her striking doesn't work.
Here she didnt know Zhang going to teach her a lesson to change her face into an alien. After the fight hope she learn to be tame.
This either goes like Andrade vs joanna , or Rose vs joanna 1

Not sure why so many are sure Zhangs going to KO her early. Jessica charged her like a maniac so one of them was going down. JJ is a range striker and one of the best. Also Val had 5 rounds to take her out and didn't really come close. I guess Zhang is now that much better than the 125 champion?

She is off and on. I seen her super cute before and other times, like when she is cutting weight and trying to be intimidating, she is not. I like her at full body weight and chill. Then she is awesome.

I see them giving a rematch to her if she loses to Weili, goes back to 125 and beat 1/2 top 5ers she gets rematch with Valentina for a title then shes again one 115lbs top 5 win away from fighting for the 115 belt
