She showed up at my family's home 3, 4 times a year when i was a kid and didn't realize who she was.

Inside is a bit of a stretch trust me ! She is far right wing and doesn't hide it. She loathes foreigners, immigrants, refugees, people with no money and in spite of what she might project she doesn't like the LGBT community either, especially the L and the T.

I agree with Joan on how women do not treat themselves like the ladies they are! I love being a woman and love taking the time to dress, apply my makeup and do my hair. It is so wonderful to get very nice compliments from people who appreciate the time one takes to look like a lady. We are a dying breed as Joan stated! I am so amazed when men tell me that they wish women would wear dresses more often, that they think a women looks sexy in them, even just a cute summer dress! I thank my parents for being such a stylish couple. I remember as a child, waiting outside their room just to see how lovely they looked when they came out on their nights out! Thank you mother and father, for teaching us to be stylish!

Well done Joan. Glamour is all about self worth. I love you for this.

I feel like people forget that. Glamour isn’t expensive or designer, it’s clean and neat clothes and taking care of skin, hair, nails, teeth and your body. It’s exactly about self worth. Accepting your flaws and knowing your strengths ❤️

Considering how conflated Joan became with Alexis, it's always nice--and surprising, lol--to hear that she is friendly in real life. I've heard it multiple times and still can't believe it because she was so convincing in Dynasty. Bet your mom liked seeing this again, what a neat experience.

Joan Collins did an excellent job with these 3 ladies...the dresses suited them perfectly, she didn't change their hair colour, the make up was subtle but there. I think the granny was the most stunning of the 3. Joan chose the dress that most suited her physique...that is not a small accomplishment.

They all looked gorgeous. I hope Holli had a wonderful memory and a Happy Birthday. 💕 I just love Joan Collins and I agree I love glamour too. We need that old Hollywood glamour back again.

Affordable, comfortable, and stylish glamour was the message I received from this fantastic show! I also enjoyed how Joan had the ladies shop at a regular store, and actually attempt to learn to makeup their faces. This is better than other shows where everything is almost forcefed to the participants without realistic guidelines, and on this show the word comfort is clearly associated with style.

This is an excellent post. So many women don't feel good about themselves so they don't try. I think the main reason for many women is financial difficulty. It is so expensive to eat well, take care of your skin, teeth hair and dress well. But there are many ways it can be done without costing a lot of money. All it takes is some time and reasearch. There is a lot of help right her on youtube. Even DYI cosmetics, hair and skin care ! Joan Collins has the right Idea ! Great post ! Thank you !

I grew up in the 80's when women were glamorous. Now, I spend my adulthood chasing glamour that no longer exists, when a guys pair of shoes costs more than a woman's whole outfit there is something wrong!

So agree with Joan, my Mum was born in 1912, she taught me to always have a black suit in my wardrobe, (I have 3) and I just love fashion. I just am appalled when I see people at the grocery store in PJs. Just lazy. Come on people, there is no reason for this. I love getting dressed up and going out with my Bichon Frise, Poppy. I live in New Zealand. Still love Joan's style from Dynasty. Bring it back. Stop being slobs, sitting on your arses, texting, and smoking. I still do housework, but I dress up when I leave the house.I still could do with improvements and would love a visit from Joan tooooooooo

Admittedly I don’t see the pjs to supermarket happen often, only time (pre covid) it was forgivable is if you are really sick and even then throw a pair of jeans on and bundle up. But now online food shopping and delivery exists really no excuse to go anywhere public looking sloppy. Did recently move so obviously had to wear comfortable clothes but I wouldn’t of finished taking a load out and strolled into a shop or bar wearing moving clothes

Honestly budget you can work around. The best is always to start with a capsule a few good pieces and then build when you can afford to. It took me 5 months of saving to get an item I wanted

You’re so right, Joan. My cousin and I are of the same mind, and love to get dressed up and accessorize. We don’t care if others are wearing jeans and T-shirts and they think us overdressed, we’ll keep the side up. I’ve always thought that it’s as easy to put on a nice article of clothing, as a shabby one.

Dame Joan always looks great and it’s possible for everyone to do the same whatever your budget once they know what you should be wearing. Knowing what your actual clothing size is helps enormously as something too small can make you look huge also age appropriate style is always a winner. Classic styles are the way forward and not what you wore age 18 when you are now 55.

Boy does Plymouth need Joan!! I visit here often from London and its Shabby with the Chic for most of its inhabitants - women and men.

Real class. We all need to improve our grooming and dress. People have really become slobs and have no pride in their appearance. It is a balance each person must find as looking like a hoochie is NOT glamorous. Leggings and a long t shirt is not glamorous. You must find the types of clothing and colors that suit you as well as hair styles and makeup. It seems so many don’t even try or overdo it looking like a street walker. Always keep in mind, “would this be considered classy”.

There’s a video on here called Joan Collins barefaced and she’s showing an interviewer how she does her makeup. I think it took her like 15 minutes and she looked fabulous. All these excuses why people don’t bother just don’t hold water. The more you do it the better and faster you get. Put some effort in and stop being so lazy.

The Americans don't look that great too. Joan Collins is correct in her way of thinking. We have become so lazy, but how and why did it start ?!?

Casual, as they are, was not in in the previous decades. Style, fashion, and keeping up with social standards were in, and still are, if you are part of the social scene.
